Hi,

Does anyone know if spectating is allowed? I think I read somewhere that it is not, but can't find that reference.

Just want to check before I waste a journey.

Thanks in advance

Steve

According the covid info sent to me from Javelin spectators are allowed Steve

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realise it was a Javelin event, I checked the website and it states spectators are allowed.

Spectators are most welcome at any time during the day.

We hope as many R3 members as can spare the time pop down to see us.

John & Gillian

Wonderful day at Croft. . .

Initially quite daunting to be out on track with trailered in 'specials' but after watching one get out of shape, hit the kitty litter and swipe the barrier right in front of me, then hear the organisers had had words with one or two others, things began to settle. Howard's instruction was well received and lent a hand for some of us, John's calm demeanour and amazing speed on track, Dave's enthusiasm, Raj's positivity and everyone's support and friendliness all contributed to the PCGB venture being a success.

A welcomed lunch break with John and Gillian providing a brilliant BBQ enhanced the day further with the afternoon sessions settling in bright sunshine, quieter track traffic and raised confidence for those of us new to the experience.

I was literally flagged off the track at the end of the day with the checkered flag brought out at close of play.

Tired but fulfilled, my commute home was sedate - it really does work the 'speed' out of your system.

Many thanks John, another amazing R3 experience and very much appreciated!

Paul (White 981 and white hair!)

So pleased to hear that you had a successful and enjoyable day.

I am sorry I wasn’t fit enough to join you - as much for the chance to catch up and share experiences as for the track time.

Many thanks to John (and Gillian) for arranging this - and to Paul for adding Howard to the mix.

Great day of driving our cars as they should be driven and R3 comradery yesterday with a great lunch provided by John and Gillian. Howard was an inspirational choice as our instructor for the day so thanks to Paul for arranging that and thanks to everyone for you great company.

Great success John thanks again

Excellent day out at Croft.

Big thank you to John and Gillian for organising. Superb weather, BBQ and craic. What R3 days are all about.

Thanks too for Paul for organising Howard to take us round and advising how it should be done!

Randall

Just to echo the above and thank everyone too.

John and Gillian’s catering was gratefully received and as a group we “paid it forward“ and donated £45 to the Great North Air Ambulance Service - plus gift aid made it £56.25.

I made the mistake of taking a passenger ride in that McLaren 720S and Raj pointed out I looked a bit peaky afterwards. Big thanks to John for the ride out too.

Excellent day yesterday at Croft

Big thanks to John and Gillian for lunch and it was a real pleasure to finally meet some of the other R3 members

A few pics i took when we arrived and i'm just editing the video off my Gopro so should have a youtube link later this evening

cheers

Sean

Thanks to everyone who joined us at Croft, whether as veteran, or newbie, track enthusiast. Also to the spectators who took time to come down and lend their support.

We were fortunate with the weather this late in September, dry all day and even some warm sunshine during the afternoon session.

Particular appreciation for Paul introducing Howard to the 'party' and the different, and quicker, lines he advised. Also to David for suggesting and organising the charity donation to Great North Air Ambulance.

R3 camaraderie was in full force all day long!

John & Gillian

Looks like a great day was had by all, sadly for us work has to take priority these days, maybe next time who knows.

I would however like to say well done to everyone attending especially John & Gillian who clearly put so much thought, time and effort into making this event another brilliant R3 experience for all it's partcipants.

I especially enjoyed watching the go-pro footage of Randall hustling his bungalow around Croft, looked like exceptionally good fun. Awesome job once again team R3

Greg & Deb

Postscript:

I feel very slightly less disgruntled at missing the track day since I received a recall notification today from Porsche, as some of you may have done, re axle mountings. It recommends against any track day use … and it would have been embarrassing to have rolled the car!
