Prescott Revival - August 10th

We've been contacted by Hagerty Insurance who are sponsoring the Prescott Revival on August 10th at Prescott Hill climb Cheltenham (GL52 9RD). This event is now celebrating its fourth year and has become a major fixture attracting large attendance of both vehicles and enthusiasts.

Hagerty have the orchard site at Prescott and they are looking to fill the area with as many car clubs as possible. Club space within the orchard is free, but passes will be required. These will be sent directly to you just before the event so you need to let us know asap if you want to attend. Runs up the hill are available and can be booked at the cost of £30.00. This includes 2 x runs and Paddock Parking. Runs have to be booked in advance by clicking here.

For those that attend but don't want to do a hill run you are invited to enter into the Hagerty Concourse d'Elegance. If enough people are interest in attending, we have been offered a dedicated display area in the orchard area but you will need to let us know before 11th July if you'd like to attend.

There is a similar posting about this on the R16 section of which I'm a member and I along with other R16 members received an email from Stuart Ings (RO) asking if we would like to attend. Now I see that the 997 Register has been listing this event for some time with a posting today asking for replies by 11th July.

Are you all working together to coordinate replies so that we end up with enough space in a dedicated display area for all the PCGB members cars?
 
No not yet Adrian,

We were aware of this thread as we subscribe to the R31 forum but not aware of the 997 thread so thanks for that.
Also there is the possibility of R10 bringing some cars down but that has to be confirmed.
So far from R16 there is 6 cars.

Good point Adrian and thanks for pointing out the 997 thread. It sounds like we've got 2 cars so far from R31 that we know about. Sadly Fiona and I won't be able to make it as we're away on holiday then.

One of our members who knows Prescott well, says that the Orchard is not a good place to park because in August it gets plagued with wasps, making it very uncomfortable particularly for people consuming any drinks or food. Something to bear in mind perhaps.
 
We were in the orchard area near fruit trees last year and moved our car away at lunch time because of the wasps, but were able to find a spot further up the hill. Whether they will be such a nuisance this year I obviously cannot say but it is just something to bear in mind if you go into the orchard area and are looking where to park. If you are not concerned about sitting near the car for lunch then it probably doesn't matter.

If you are booking runs up the hill then the orchard would be a much better place to be for access to the start of the hillclimb as it is next to the paddocks. The normal public parking is on the other side of the track and not so convenient to get to the start line.

I have been in contact with Timothy Sawyer and he will be sending me the passes to post on to all those that will be going to the event, the idea being that they park in the orchard to put on a display.

The deadline is now July 18 then I will have to inform Tim of the numbers. I will of course need all your addresses to post on the pass.
