Funny coincidence, I was trying to find information about this yesterday. I'd be keen to go and participate with the RSR--it raced there.

I did this in 2011 Rennsport Reunion 4. It was by far the best Porsche event i have ever attended. The fact that it's in California and at a great track with an epic corner "the corkscrew" helps.Porsche pull out all the stops and there is a who's who of racing drivers . Last time round we flew into San Fransisco then drove to Sacremento then onto lake Tahoe , Mamoth lakes and then drove through Yosemite to get to Carmel where we stayed at a little motel / Hotel just outside of Carmel itself. From there Laguna is a 15-20 min drive or so. I spent the Friday, Saturday and half of Sunday at the event , the other half managed the Friday but spent the other two days chillin by the pool. The Monday we drove back to San Fransisco, got on a plane and flew to Hawaii for a week (kept Sue happy). No firm plans of what to do this time round. The missus feels we've done California to death (i'd go back again and again)but she is happy to do another Hawaii island(so no suprise there). Done Highway 1 in both directions and death Valley , Vegas , grand cayon etc so going to have to have a good think. Would be good if we could at least get a group of us all staying in the same place for the event.

Oooohhh, very tempting... Especially as there is a 1 day meeting at El Mirage the week after (18th) that would be great to combine with... never know, might even get the Belly Tanker done in time for that! Or the week (29th to 2nd) before is World Finals which is a nice event on the Bonneville Salt Flats... although that does have a habit of being rained out. Would love to do the trip to all that with my '73 car that is sat out in Cali!! So keep me posted on plans! And anyone wanting advice on Bonneville or El Mirage... drop me a line! Rick

I will definitely be going. Its a must do. I've done Pebble many times so know the area well. Staying in Carmel is great and its an easy drive from there to the track. Hope to see some of you there. Damen

Just a brief heads up / update. Currently i have a draft plan of what i want to do holiday wise whilst over at Rennsport. But things are moving fast with regards to hotel bookings in my prefered hotel for Rennsport, The Hyatt Regency Monterey. So if your planning on going and all want to be in the same hotel you'll need to book this up fast! Myself and Sue, Martin & Saz already have bookings for the nights of 8th 9th 10th October 15. The idea being to get there on the Thursday eve and leave on the Sunday 11th. Simon you have mail.

I have to admit i was not expecting things to book up so fast. been somewhat caught out by the level of interest that is being shown to the event. I know Simon has tried to book The Hyatt today and at present it's now full ! Though i guess there has been the usual bout of block bookings that end up being released later ! As a back up option for those thinking of going you could try booking the Carmel Mission Inn. This is a more basic hotel but served us well enough last time round. from memory it's about 20 mins from Laguna and probably 10 - 15 mins from the Hyatt. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g32172-d76378-Reviews-Carmel_Mission_Inn-Carmel_Monterey_Peninsula_California.html#Hotel_Review-g32172-d76378-Reviews-Carmel_Mission_Inn-Carmel_Monterey_Peninsula_California.html/BackUrl?&_suid=1413580720335008095690915402759

I'd love to do this but with current forecasts I'm going to be living a 7hr flight east of UK, so around 16+ hrs to Cali. I'm determined to go so might just bring a tent or get a last minute hotel room. Might persuade Hugh to come along too? [:)]

would be cool Rich. Sorry mean't to reply to your email. Can understand your difficulty. Possibly worth checking what they do overthere, they must do a lot of buisness with US.

Ok, last login appears to have got deleted somehow by my trying to change the email... So previously known as DSCboy... now POFG! I managed to get a room reserved at the Hyatt the day of the announcement, not sure if I'll be able to go, but risk of not being able to stay there was too great! So anyone that PM'd me about El Mirage or Bonneville, could you do so again to this new login? There is also the R-Gruppe Treffen over that period.... Rick
