Are you trying to enter a U R L, when you should be up loading from your hard drive? If the image you want is on another web site, right click on it, save it to your own machine, then upload from there.

this is Admin logged in as dai_lemma and, as you can see, it works OK for me!!

I can' t help but think the problem is at your end - what is the size/name of file you are trying to upload? Can you send a screen grab of the error message (best email it if you can' t upload [])

I think you are missing the point. Uploading picture into a message is no problem, but uploading a picture as an avatar does not work. I along with others report a disk error message when trying to upload

Seeing as several members are reporting the same problem, there must be a common reason. Could it be file permissions?

as you can see, when I log in as you I can upload an avatar without any problem. I have asked others for full details (file name, size, type, error message, screen grab of error etc etc) - the more I get the more chance of identifying the problem...

Gosh,
I have just looked back at the mail I placed for help with my picture and it seems I was not alone.

Thanks again to Mike Butler who got me on the right track. I think there should be better instruction within the site to help all of us.
regards to all,
Iain

Aha!! Got it to work now doing it from home, perhaps going through the office server to upload it at work caused some sort of problem. Confirms your theory anyway Jeff, I have done nothing different just used an alternative computer so must have been my end. Yahoo! Oops sorry musn' t use that word here.

Keep trying the rest of you, but as already noted essential to make sure size of picture and pixels are under the limits stated (both must be right not just number of pixels) and ensure you have unchecked the box marked ' use your avatar as profile photo' , should be fine then.

dai_lemma: car looks nice - similar to mine! FYI, the smoked side front indicators are only about £20 from an OPC [;)]

Thank a lot Geri, I must say that I think it very sad Porsche stopped the Zenith Blue, I would really struggle to pick a colour if I bought a new car today, they all seem so bland. Even though a work colleague calls it ' girlie purple' I haven' t seen any other Boxster colour I find nearly as attractive.

I have been tempted with the lights upgrade, including the rear but not sure if it is worth the money or I could get away without her indoors noticing and demanding a new dress in compensation!

Talking of lights, I have litronic headlights and they are absolutely brilliant, going back to my standard mitsubishi headlights on my company car is like suddenly driving in fog, if you haven' t got them I would certainly recommend you get them but perhaps at next car change rather than swap the current ones as I believe they are very costly!

Cheers

Peter,

I agree that it' s sad that they stopped Zenith... I can' t understand why - especially as the added clear light-look really makes the car stand out!

I unfortunately haven' t got the Litronics (or experienced them ...yet).
I could fit them aftermarket (although they would not have the " self-levelling" gadgetry that' s calculated from feedback from the suspension).
Also, I' ve seen several Xenon upgrade kits available (approx £500!!!!) but I am told that this would consitute an MOT failure (due to lack of non-levelling feature) (????).

I' m really pleased with my ' 03 spec rear lights - very cheap upgrade at £120ish (got mine from Type911, but essential styling/porschapart etc also do them). They clean the rear of the car up no end! Fitted them in 10 minutes, but spent a while trying to get " both" rear fog' s working (there' s only 1 on the Boxster! [:D] )

There is a modification that you can DIY with the front lights - the amber around the inside of the indicator can be removed by heating with a soldering iron, and picking it out. It takes about an hour per side (so I have been told). I have seen the results and they are worth the effort - especially as the fitting of those silver look philips bulbs remove " all" the orange from the front. Very nice. Maybe when I' m bored I' ll give it a go!

Geri.

I believe this is correct - it is a legal requirement to have self levelling with gas-discharge lights. Due to the extra brightness additional care has to be taken to avoid dazzling other road users.

Jeff

I may be being thick here, but the picture in your post 10/03/03 is not mine.

I have uploaded a new image, so here goes.
