Sneak peak at the first 991 Turbo S (pre-customer) cars in the UK.

Here are a few crappy pics I took on my iPhone:

(got to say that those side vents, front and rear bumper black plastic looks SO cheap )

Porsche make more profit on a 911 Turbo than they do on any other car - I can see why given these cheap stuck on bits []

Agree Alex the front spoiler/apron has more than a little in common with a Nissan GTR which is a lot cheaper !!

Looks fab in blue, and love the wheels. Not sure about the sunroof on the silver car though.

Like the Blue, and the 'look' of the sunroof.

Not a fan of the rear badging though - far too cluttered.

Interesting that only the blue car stuck with the SportDesign mirrors despite the wider rear of the Turbo S. On my 911-50, I've not yet decided which way to go. Not a single OPC could yet tell me if the SportDesign mirrors are manually foldable.

I agree, the blue looks great. Does anyone know if that's Sapphire, or a "colour to sample" special?

Blue especially and black look amazing, that silver makes it look like a repmobile or a Halfords special with bits tacked on. Definitely needs a darker colour, I think.

Forgot to say that these cars are all destined for Silverstone Experience centre. I have a freeby day up there in hand from my Cayenne purchase. I am deciding whether to go drive these Turbos in Oct, or hold out until the new GT3 is available in Nov.

I would personally have a black Turbo to (somewhat) hide those horrid plastic bits. The whole bottom back bumper is plastic and those front bumper inserts under the lights on the outside of the horizontal slats are simply nasty. All of it should have been carbon-fibre for 140k!

From BBC worldwide for the US market but still relevant:

At $149,250 for the Turbo and $182,050 for the S, they will also cost thousands more than their immediate predecessors "" saying nothing of some worthy, less expensive competitors.

This prompted a consideration of what kind of toys Turbo money could otherwise buy "" bearing in mind that a Porsche customer would not cross-shop a Turbo S with, say, seven $25,000 Volkswagen GTIs.

Alex, the solution to the horrid black plastic is to order the car with the factory option that has those parts painted, my 991 has the front grill slats painted in body colour, if you are at Beaulieu on Monday you will see it, I think it looks much better than the standard matt black.

Agreed the plastic looks 'ghastly' on such a premium car although from what I can make out in pics they do seem to have protected rads & condensers......

Is that some sort of plastic mesh as part of front grilles?

One of the first things I checked. Sadly still no protection!

Also, in the configuration tool there are no options for painting plastic bits other than the bottom of the mirrors.

I expect it'll be available to get the plastic bits painted under Porsche Exclusive, as with the other cars.
Except perhaps the active front aero.
