Noisy exhaust

Hi all,

I have a sports exhaust which will probably fail the Pro-drive limits of 98db static.
On the Pro-drive site they mention silencer bungs, clamp-on silencers and super traps as a way of mitigating the sound levels caused by these exhausts. Anyone heard of these things, or have one I could borrow for the day?

Would save me swictching back to my stock back boxes for one day.

Any help would be appreciated [;)]
 
I've heard of people using these on bike track days when they are going to tracks that have very low noise levels, however I don't know where you get them, or how they fit.

I think you're right. I've emailed them now anyway, maybe they have something lying around (a thick sock maybe![;)])

No response from JP.
Pro-drive very helpfully sent me an email suggesting I speak to http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/ as PD didn't have anything for my car.

I called them and they suggested I use this:-

However, they pointed out that the disc silencers are only good for a 1-2db reduction. I'll need to buy a sound meter (£130 odd) to see if that would be enough!

I may just call my local garage who service my other car (£30ph labour) and ask them to swap my boxes around.

once they're off, I'll be a mate and take them off you.

no point spending money putting them back on afterwards [;)]

 
I can just imagine you hiding in the grassy knoll behind my local garage, combat trousers and balaclava, waiting to pounce (or is that ponce[;)]) when my Oettle's have been removed.

I'm watching you sunshine![:D]
