no hot start...

Suddenly running into this. If I try to restart the car whilst it's hot there is no response from the key just a click - solenoid?. Leave it to cool a while and it starts. I assume I need a new start motor? Hot windings, high resistance etc which settles as it cools. Anything else

As you say probably the starter motor, had this in mine a very long time ago and replacing the starter cured it. Martin over on the 968 and tipec groups might be able to offer a rebuild.
