Looking at a set of Nexen N6000 for my 968, 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 which I can get delivered for £272. Falkens would be another £50 or so. The cost of fitting would be about £60 on top.
Had both. Buy the Falkens of the price differential is that low. To be honest, I can't say performance wise that the difference was noticeable but nevertheless I'd prefer one brand over the other.

Yes, used them on my s2 for 9 months. Not a premium brand but I had no problems in wet or dry. Have a couple of rears sitting in the garage. Plus, toyos for the fronts. Will be on eBay shortly.
Actually looking for a rear set for my S2 as a stop gap so when you put them on eBay please let me know depending on size (need 255/40/17)
Other than the wear I have been quite happy with them, there has been no hint of anything in dry or wet, although driving in the snow was pretty much a non starter, had to revert to the 944 for that. Don't know if that was the tyres, 18" wheels or just the GTi though.

Falkens would be another £50 or so.
A set of 17" Falkens for around £320! That is a good price, where is that from?
