New Year Gathering - Now 4th March, all welcome

Yes, thanks Mike. Scatty-nav now updated with all destinations and way-points. Is it normal to have to go via Southern Scotland to get to South Mimms from Hampshire? [8D]

I thought it looked wrong. Scatty-nav woman always goes a bit loopy(er) after a firmware upgrade. I knew pressing "yes" to the upgrade dialogue was a mistake...

The good news is that I should be able to make it tomorrow...the bad news is that I haven't had chance to clean her, so she will be in usual matte pink/road muck colour scheme! (I Know, I'll park her at the back of the group photo again....)

Well, luckilly i managed to scrape a few hours (as the sun went down) to change mine from 'road salt grey' back to 'Mocha black' No wax though. Hopefully if it doesn't rain over night I'll be able to apply a layer of bilt hamber's finest auto balm. [8D]

Rain? You'll be lucky! The Met office has posted a "Yellow Severe Weather" warning for snow around those parts tomorrow http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ee/ee_forecast_warnings.html Deja vue, anyone? [&:]

Paul, I have just phoned the pub to book you a table, they have said they will try and fit you in with the rest of us on the main table (hopefully they can) if you would like to email me on andrew@astonheating.co.uk I will send you the menu.

[&:]It sounds like it should only be a problem later on. It can't be as bad as that blizard last month, surely?

Later on as you said, plus the forecast temperatures aren't shown as getting near freezing. I can't see it amounting to much. I'll stick the snow-socks in the back of the car on the off-chance.

Sorry to be a pain but I may not be able to attend now tomorrow, power steering rack is still leaking quite badly despite my attempts to fix it.

Don't like to say "I told you so" but....

ORIGINAL: andy watson 10am it is then, fingers crossed for the weather to be the same as this weekend.
Sad to say I've just put the summer tyres back on my Golf so I am confident in predicting snow over the next few days as the gods of motoring weather punish me for changing off of winters early. My apologies to everyone.
Sorry [:)]

Fantastic - email just sent

Pre flight checks now done: Car drinking oil like mad = 5 litres in boot Car losing slightly alarming amounts of water = bottle of evian on the passenger seat Clutch just starting to slip = AA card in wallet See you on a low loader sometime tomorrow [:D]

That's the spirit! My pre-flight checks are also done. Water loss has been stopped by fitting new radiator expansion tank cap Mysterious power-steering fluid loss has not recurred... everything is crossed on that one... Slipping alternator belt has been tightened yet again new centre console has been fitted... will probably squeak and rattle all 300 miles of the trip (mitigation plan - turn stereo up)

Good luck with tomorrow chaps. Hope the weather holds out fine. Absolutely gutted I can't make it [:(] On a lighter note though Andy hairyarse and I have been planning another meet in the summer. It's just a notion at the moment but we were thinking maybe Gaydon. Would anyone else be up for it???
