OP Ring Alasdair he gave you his number in a previous post, he knows these cars very well, pics of the white one look great but Al knows the car so i am sure will give you the full low down......warts and all !
I've spoken to Alisdair and viewed the car yesterday. It looks and drives superbly BUT and this is a big but there is absolutely no service history prior to 2007 and no Service Book with the car!!!
I am starting to think that for a couple of thousand more I can get a car with Full Service History (and maybe a few stone chips on the front) but in the future I know it will still have a better re sale value?
p.s. Ruddy says Hello [

Are you buying to store and re-sell? or are you looking for a car to use?

No service history before 2007 - I can appreciate it's not ideal, but if it's comprehensive from that point forward then maybe not so important. (is it worth 4k?) I don't know if a Porsche centre would give you a print out of its history in the Porsche network?
Are you buying to store and re-sell? or are you looking for a car to use?
I can get a confirmed low mileage 250bhp model for ÂŁ3000 more with Full History and immaculate interior so that is my decision to make but I think the history is important if not essential.
With no history there is no way of confirming the mileage or what work has been done in the past?

The revised DPA doesnt actually prevent anyone from telling you anything about the car of course, but because they presume that it does its very difficult to get past. A friend of mine ran into this recently with a 944 - the OPC were friendly and helpful and they told him that it was well looked after, but cited 'data protection' as their reason for not confirming exact details or stamping up service book for him. Theyre completely in the wrong, but how do you challenge them? You cant ever convince a person that theyre wrong and you are right through arguing.
Onno's car mileage certainly looked genuine from what I have seen of the car.

Have you not thought about an S2 ? very capable cars, not as tuneable but every bit as good, have you checked with Jon Mitchell at JMG garages (Google Them) he is a respected specialist and is trustworthy, he sells the odd one now and again and has his own "collection"
Been on the phone to Mr Ruddy this evening as he also has a 944/968 thing again............he should never have sold H3 BUF !
Buy on condition and not necessarily mileage, obviously history helps, check for rot on the sills inner and outer, remove the air vent from the rear panel when the door is opened, doors generally do not rot, front wing bottoms are also another problem area.
PS they are way better engineered than any Ford [

I may have one lined up with low miles and full history so will keep you updated
Agree, they are better built than my old Fords and cost a fraction of the price!!!

Jim, he has the deepest pockets I have ever known, only slightly deeper than yours, whilst us poor pensioners have to scrape by [
He also likes to pop round and scoff my Wagon Wheels ...

Car was originally supplied by Evans Halshaw Warwick and the options fitted were :-
220 LSD
288 Headlight Washers
383/387 Sports Electric Seats
490 Upgaded Stereo Package
526 Cloth Covered Door Panels
533 Alarm
573 Air Conditioning
593 ABS
605 Headlight Adjustment
650 Electric Sunroof
The seats feel like new and I don't think the rear seats or passenger seat have hardly been sat in they are that good. There are a few stonechips as expected, but all the electrics etc. work and the body is in excellent condition with bone dry sills and no leaks anywhere.
Here are a few pics before I bought it, and I will put more up when I have changed the wheels and added the Cup Sport steering wheel [
