Hi,
My names Steve I live in Newquay and have just (well January) purchased my first Porsche, a Viola Metallic 996 C4 with GT3 aero kit, 18" Sport Design alloys and carbon interior to give you the highlights.
I have to say I love the car it's one of, if not the best car I've owned, and I've owned a few.
I am firmly hooked on the Porsche marque [:D]
I was just wondering if the R15 club meet for 8th June was going ahead as planned, and if so would it be OK for me to come along and join in for a drink and a chat to some like minded car nuts?

Welcome to Region 15, Steve. You have joined a very healthy and vibrant Region and within its active membership base some really super people. Garry Steele your Regional Organiser has a fantastic following and his Committee and he deserve the credit for providing a myriad of events and opportunities to get really involved within the Club. I look forward to meeting you at one or more of the events planned for this year. Make sure you sign-up for the Concours to be held at The River Dart Adventure Park on June 12th. Garry can be contacted under R15 heading in the [:D]yellow pages of the Porsche Post
Kind regards
Bob Lovelace
Regional Director

I just thing 996's are not good looking and are like quick BMW's to drive; a bit boring/lacking that 911 feel;though obviously still great cars.
Well I just recently spent a day at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground with Don Palmer getting to grips with my new purchase. Basically an on the limit control day, and I think the 996 is far from boring. With PSM off the car was even better. And once you understand where it's limit is, it's easy to control as you can feel it letting go quite well, and bring it back.
I've never driven an M3 before, which is another great drivers car, but I'm sure there are similar characteristics as they are direct competitors.
As you can probably tell I'm a modern technology kind of person, I'm not into the classic thing myself, although I do understand why people enjoy it and I love to look at classic cars, especially Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin and the like. But I wouldn't drive one.

PS whats with the pig???
As for the Pig. Well that's my fast Porker, the pig in trainers [:D]

Welcome on board Steve. Sorry I haven't responded before but I don't look at the forum that often, mainly because a) I don't have time and b) so few people in our region actually use it.

As Bob confirms, our next Club Night is on the 8th June, so come along and introduce yourself.

You'll get to hear about the many events we have planned for this year and hopefully you'll be able to come to a few of them.

I look forward to meeting you. (When did you actually join the club?)
