Keep it Titanium nice colour, and those red things are sooooo common [:)][:)]

Changing colour is always difficult unless it's a complete strip-down to a bare shell.

Titan silver is a great colour, but the guy who did mine said it was a pain to spray as it has unusually large metal flakes in the paint. Might have been fobbing me off, but there are a few patches where there's a "grain" to the finish.

I don't mind, it's a car to drive not look at. I don't know if anyone else has had issues with the colour though? It's an Audi paint originally.

I was always told that when spraying metallic body panels should be painted in their normal orientation, if wings etc have been painted laid flat that may explain the 'grain' effect you are seeing as the flakes have settled differently,

Hey Ian,

I would keep it original, i love the Porsche script down the side, and as Andy says Red so soooo common [;)][;)]

Be interested to hear the quote you got for respray, I've had 2 so far one was 6K glass out and 3K non glass out. both from different companies, i live in surrey if that makes any difference to price!

Cheers
J

Hi sorry for the long time in replying I only have one pic and at the moment it's to large to include? Can't on the iPad quite see how to change this yet. But it's "black"! I will as soon as I can but the poor things parked on the drive under a cover for now. The last owner did make some mods which make it recognisable 968 rear end grey/cream leather wheels and teardrop mirrors but needs a little tiding which is what I'll do over the coming years. Nice to see your pics make me want a coupe as well [:-]

Hi all,

I'm also a new owner (since Nov 14) of a 944S2 and new member of the PCGB (since Xmas) and it's great to read this discussion thread and see the photos of various colours.... I also have an interesting "colour story" worth sharing....

In the intervening week between buying and collecting my car I was searching the internet for info about the colour, as I hadn't seen it before. Turns out my car is painted "Zyclam Red." I googled that and found a forum thread, discussions from 2011 by people in USA and Italy, which contained a load of photos of an example of the colour.... this turned out to be the exact car I was buying!!!

Needless to say I bored (in their eyes) my wife, kids and in fact everyone I knew, about the colour and the forum!!

The link to the thread I read is:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-924-944-968-technical-forum/625984-zyclam-red-pearl-effect.html

What is all of your views about this colour?

Cheerio,

Mike

Hi, I really like the look with the tear drop mirrors, when you get a chance, post more pics, I'd be interested to see the 968 rear. Really nice lookin Cab !!

Hi Mike, I love this colour, I saw it on a 944 Lux. I keep convincing myself to keep with the original Titanium Silver, but this pic has made me think again. Lovely looking car !!
