Titan silver is a great colour, but the guy who did mine said it was a pain to spray as it has unusually large metal flakes in the paint. Might have been fobbing me off, but there are a few patches where there's a "grain" to the finish.
I don't mind, it's a car to drive not look at. I don't know if anyone else has had issues with the colour though? It's an Audi paint originally.

Changing colour is always difficult unless it's a complete strip-down to a bare shell.

I was always told that when spraying metallic body panels should be painted in their normal orientation, if wings etc have been painted laid flat that may explain the 'grain' effect you are seeing as the flakes have settled differently,

Looks like someone has put the 968 side trims on that one. Does it also have a 968 rear?

I'm also a new owner (since Nov 14) of a 944S2 and new member of the PCGB (since Xmas) and it's great to read this discussion thread and see the photos of various colours.... I also have an interesting "colour story" worth sharing....
In the intervening week between buying and collecting my car I was searching the internet for info about the colour, as I hadn't seen it before. Turns out my car is painted "Zyclam Red." I googled that and found a forum thread, discussions from 2011 by people in USA and Italy, which contained a load of photos of an example of the colour.... this turned out to be the exact car I was buying!!!
Needless to say I bored (in their eyes) my wife, kids and in fact everyone I knew, about the colour and the forum!!
The link to the thread I read is:

What is all of your views about this colour?
Cheerio,
Mike
