new exhaust for my 993

Hi, can anyone help me with this one?
I want to fit a new exhaust to my car and I been recomended to fit a 'cargraphics' system. Has anyone any experience of this exhaust system, I would apreciate your view. My car is a 1997 C2S.

Peter another option is the RSR exhaust modification which basically you exchange your exhaust for one that has been cut open and some of the baffles removed--it depends what ou want from the exhaust--the RSR conversion can be sourced through Gert Carnewal <gert@carnewal.com> in Belgium at a cost of 40 Euros--plus an exchange for your old exhaust.

If you want a pair of RSR's ehaust boxes I have a set - no exchange just straight purchase at £250.

Steve - they're cheap - but not that cheap! Try 400 Euros plus return postage. Works out at about £330.

Thanks Graham, but not what I need. I have been told that the cargraphics are neighbour friendly until you put your foot down. I think the rs's might be a bit too rorty.
Thanks again for the offer.

Graham your RSB's sound tempting.... although understand should get a remap too.

All the same ......

How old are they what condition please ?

I bought a set off Graham when I had my C2 and they gave a nice burble at tick over, slightly throatier than standard and then kicked in big style at 4000 revs.

WillD,

You don't need to have non standard mufflers to have the ECU remapped, but the chances are that it is a mod you will make and I know that 9M suggested that I got that and a K&N filter fitted before the remapping. Again this was done on my C2 and I only had the benefit of the remapping for 3 days before my car was written off by an Audi. Still hurts when I hink about it[]

Will The boxes are off my old 98 4S. They are Gillet and date stamped 97-06.
The Gillet tubes have the 'biscuits' built in so are a direct swap for either type of box. Boxes are stainless so no corrosion - tubes are (i think) 16g steel and get so hot that corrosion is not an issue.

William - 968er. Hope your relocation has gone well! Did you manage to track down our old car, or has it disappeared into the ether?
New arrival is 997S due March.

My 97-C2S has the cargraphic GT system (incl 100 cell cats).

See pic - it does look pretty much standard - until you start it up.
Its noticably louder throughout the rev range, hard-edged when on light load and with a purposeful growl when pushing hard at higher revs - bottom-line is a great noise pretty much all the time. On the down-side though it can get a little boomy around 2500-2800 revs when cruising.

With this sort of thing you really have to hear it for yourself - if this is the sort of system you are thinking of, and are planning to pass the manchester area anytime soon, give me an email.

Thanks Peter
That kind of ties in with what ninemeister said. I am definately moving toward getting it done at the same time as the clutch. Would you believe this all started with a loose heat shield. A relatively small piece of metal that requires the back of the car coming off to get too. A job you only want done once, hence all this other work.
Thanks again
Peter
