My first turbo

Elliot

New member
A while ago you may remember i asked whether i should sell my 993 and buy a 944 turbo.

Well i have achieved the best of both worlds and managed to keep the 993 and have just agreed a price to purchase a 1990 250 944 turbo

Certain people on here will be pleased to know it is in guards Red

it also has black sports leather and bridge spoiler with 17" cups and a spare set of CS forged 16"s
full service history, MOTs from 1997 on, Peter Morgan report and a recent £1700 bill for engine seals and belts so hopefully no work needed to soon.

only things to do on it is
replace centre console (old phone holes)
replace cambelt (just to be sure)
investigate tiny laquer lift on rear arch.

Picking up tomorrow (friday) - from 110 yards up the road so wont get a great test drive back home

will take some pictures and post them soon.

I am thinking of putting the original alloys back on so i may have the cups available soon.

Congrats Elliot on getting the turbo - and keeping the 993 too, I'm not at all envious[:D]

Enjoy and looking forward to the pics

Congratulations Elliot, I'd be interested to hear which of the two you prefer out of the flat 6 fan cooled with ballet front end, or boosted 4 banger with amazing traction, balance and forgiveness
In due course.........
good luck with it

Thanks for comments chaps

i have uploaded some photos on first post now but they are not very good quality so will do some more tomorrow

That look excellent [8D] As George says, will be intersting to hear your comparison once youve setled in with it

Robs a bit quite

thought he would have had to say something about another red turbo on his patch!

Nice, it's proper red too!

be interested to hear your comparison with the 993 as that is one of my thoughts for my next Porker

Thanks for that Pauly

Car has only stone chip touch ups and has never been resprayed but i admit does look a bit pink in the pictures but must be camera as in the flesh its one of the best original paint reds that i have seen whilst i have been working with these cars. Hence why i brought it.

It does look a bit pink in the photos but it also looks like a very nice example. Interior looks very tidy.

Hope it turns out to be an excellent car for you.

That looks loverly Elliot, looking at your engine bay reminded me I need an undamged bottom section of a Turbo air box can you help ?

I doubt there are many 20 year old cars that haven't had some paint during their lifetime, 2 of the best turbo's I've been offered were that same colour but I just don't care for it, on a dancing donkey yes, 944 no. Garnet red is nice though.
