We have done several such trips to Europe in our 987.2 Boxster. The perfect car for a sense of adventure and simple practicality. It eats those tedious long miles.
I think planning ahead is crucial for every detail and don't underestimate the heat side to you and the car.
We carry a spare plug top as they can break down due to heat, esp # 5 cylinder. This happened to us in austria, but with the spare to hand, no propbs.
I would certainly add break down cover to the Must Have list!
Very good advice to never speed, the cameras are in place the police there too esp where there are lots of tourists, it removes a lot of stress every day.
Now you have a real taste for this game, start planning the next one...
We are off in Sept to a simple run into France. Using the Chunnel to get there but, after avoiding a ferry for 30 years, coming back on one.
ANYTHING but the demoralising run from Dover to home after the sheer joy of European motoring.
