Moving on. Signing off

Back in early 2014, we took on the mantle of Regional Organisers for the Club's Cotswold Region. During that time we’ve enjoyed the privilege of helping keep the Region on the road, so to speak, and making it relevant to R31 members. Now, after more than 5 years as ROs, for various reasons, we have decided to hand over the Region’s organisational reins.

We’ve always thought of ROs as party hosts, ensuring that everyone feels welcome, is catered for no matter what their tastes, and can join in the conversation. Irrespective of the diversity of members’ interests and lifestyles, there’s no doubt that R31 has a strong social culture. Hopefully, anyone attending an R31 event would agree. The steady increase in members participating in R31 events since 2014 has given us not only great satisfaction, but also a great many good friends.

As from tomorrow, Alan Armstrong will be taking on the mantle as R31’s RO. Although Alan may be new to some of you, he’s had a long and distinguished history with the Club, both as a director and register secretary. We hope you’ll join us in wishing him well and supporting him as you supported us. As for us, we’ll be focusing on some personal projects. That said, we’ll still be attending R31 events, and helping out now and then.

So, as the Morris Marina of time fails the MOT test of eternity, and the dappled donkey of fate ambles towards the abattoir of destiny, our iPhone calendar reminds us that the time has come to hand over the keys to R31. Before we sign off for good though, we’d like to express our sincere thanks to you all for turning up, supporting our events and being such brilliant party guests…. and friends over the past five years. Sayonara chums.

Alan and Fiona have been excellent ambassadors of this club and have worked very hard to make R31 the success that it has become.

You have been a great listener and advisor to me over the last 5 years Alan and I hope we can keep still in touch.

Good luck for all you have planned. You will be a hard act to follow that's for sure.

I've said my thanks on Twitter, but, why not say them again?! :)
Been a Porsche owner for just over two years and the events A&F have run have always been good and I'm sorry to see them pass that mantle on. All the best guys and I know I'll still see you around. Thank you for all the hard work, effort, planning and enthusiasm you put into what you did.

Here here.
They have raised the region to new levels with their enthusiasm, friendliness and pure effort.

All the best to you both, Alan and Fiona, and welcome (back?) to Alan Armstrong to continue the region’s fortune. See you all soon - Scramble on 6 Oct, perhaps?

Alan & Fiona are the true definition of the spirit of this club and both Sue and I will miss their guidance of our happy region.
We are delighted to hear they will still be around and attending events in the future.
Best wishes to Alan Armstrong we are sure he’ll do a great job and continue to make the Cotswold region such a great success.

Ian & Suexx

Very many thanks to Peter, Mark, Paul and Ian & Sue for all your especially kind comments. It's really makes us feel proud to have contributed in some small way to members' enjoyment of PCGB and to ultimately be valued by those who we count as our Club friends. Whilst we might have stood down as ROs, we certainly plan to carry on as active members and continue to take part in regional events, and even run an event or two.

Hope to catch up with you all soon.
