Main dealer fixed price servicing costs query

Just to update on this i rang round and to cut a long story short the highest was £3500 and I asked them to double check as it was considerably higher than all others and she confirmed it was correct they have their own pricing. The best was £1550 An hours drive with a courtesy car. the chiswick price was £2050 so I am £500 better off now than I would have been if I had just done the usual thing and booked in my local. All advice here was excellent and I’m booked in with a recommended dealership from here. Thanks again. Ring round is very much the thing to do.

This is the quotation I received from Porsche Portsmouth to complete the 8 year Major service + additional work on my 991.1 C4S Cab:
Thankyou for your call earlier regarding a quote for the work on your 911.
I have attached the quote for the Major service. As you will see it retails at £1700.00 and will be subject to a 10% discount as part of your Owners Club bringing the quote to £1530.00
You asked about Brake Fluid, this is included in the Service.
The prices below have been discount where applicable and inclusive of any relevant Parts, Labour and VAT.
4x Wheel Geometry: £198.00
111 Point Check: £216.00
3x Year Warranty: £2830.00, No discount available
Optional Porsche Assist: £385.00, No discount available
New 12v Battery: £453.84
I understand that 'Specialists' do offer a cheaper hourly Labour Rate but as you can see, I am keen to pay for the 3yr Porsche extended warranty, so having been offered a 10% discount I accepted. Hoping this information is useful.

Does you car already have Warranty? If it hasn't expired then you shouldn't have to pay for an additional 111 point check.

If it doesn't, then be prepared for the 111 point check as it will flag up any non-porsche approved items which will need to be replaced before the warranty will be allowed such as batteries, wipers, brake pads etc. I've heard of people that have to replace brand new Michelin tyres with older versions because they were not N rated.

Personally I would get the main service items done at the dealer for the stamp and warranty and use a decent indie for anything else. As long as you use porsche parts will be fine with the warranty.

A geometry at Kwik-fit is £80 and they use the same Hunter machines as the OPC.

£450 for a battery is a joke. Buy the approved battery yourself. Depending on your model this may need to be coded to the car but any indie with a PIWIS can do that and you'll save a couple of hundred easy.

I should also add that I use Portsmouth for my servicing and warranty work, but their quotes for other work is laughable. The quoted me £280 (2 hours labour) to fit the fire extinguisher in my GT3, I did it in 10 mins.

Your doing well !
The best price I could get is £1345
Im still waiting for it back they have had it for 4 days now?
Apparently a turbo pipe has corroded they said very generously I wouldn’t have to pay for the part (I said I wasn’t expecting to)
Hopefully I will get it back tomorrow
