Hi there folks,
As ever I'm looking for some answers to my questions. I'm new to 911's and I'm trying to build up my knowledge so that I can make an informed purchase.
1. What are heat exchangers? I knoiw a lot of cars are advertised as having stainless steel heat exchangers. How much would these cost at a specialist?
2. The same question as above relating to hydraulic tensioners? I am correct in thinking that these were fitted to the later 3.2 Carreras? What is the cost of having these fitted at a specialist?
3. A lot of cars are advertised as having top end rebuilds. At what mileage is this normal and at what mileage should the bottom end need rebuilt? I know this is largely dependent on how the car has been driven and the frequency of servicing but ball park figures would be very helpful. How much would a top end rebuold cost at a speciliast?
4. How long should the clutch last and how much is a replacement at a specialist?
5. Where should I look for signs of corrosion in the bodywork?
Many thanks.
Martin.
