Looking to buy a Porsche 718 GTS Boxster

I've had one on test drive for two days and actually loved it. My current car is a 911 turbo 997. The GTS is usable and fun the drive, the PDK box is excellent. One thing I would need to address is a black grilled radiator protector. Does anyone know of any producers of said items?

Zunsport do them- I had one on my 981 GTS and now have them fitted to my 991 S
brilliant

The only issue with them is they invalidate the Porsche warranty there is quite a lot about them on Pistonheads forum.
I had them on my 981 GTS and they are very good but Porsche GB seem to be getting a bit stroppy regarding warranty.
I would suggest you speak with your OPC as there seems to be a lot of different opinions from OPC's.
The whole situation is crazy because the rads are exposed to stone damage and not covered by warranty, again I know of some OPC's that have replaced damaged rads under warranty . There does not seem to be any consistency on this issue and its best to know the stance your OPC will take if any claim is made. I know you can take them off before sending the car into your dealer but if you have a roadside breakdown the car is recovered and at the nearest OPC before you can remove them.
Best to understand the warranty risks before making your decision.

I have them on my 987 Boxster. They are simple enough to remove and refit if your car is under warranty and going into an OPC.

Agreed, my 981 and my current 718 have/had them fitted. No problems (as yet) with OPC.

If you check out Brian's blog on his Cayman GTS he has them fitted. I have them on mine see my blog on the Boxster GTS which started when I first ordered in April 18 taking delivery in March 19 with photos.

Easy to fit and clean. I believe they now do a version if you have the clever auto dim lights to handle the camera. Well worth fitting.

Cheers

Many thanks for the link, I have just bought the car (new) over the phone and ordered my grills in black with a 20% discount thanks to your link . Happy with that, cheers.

I bought both my new 718 GTS on Saturday and was already armed with my Zunsport rad guards. They are a bit of an odd fitment - feed them in sideways and then pull them forward on an interference fit basis and they hook on forward as opposed to press in - I suspect a hit on a rabbit will see a guard out instantly - every time I drive it I get out and check they are still in.......so far so good. They look nice and the club discount given is much appreciated. I love the car and I'm not missing my 997 911 Turbo which is fine as I've still got it :). Its up for sale, not a rock star yet....nor I am likely to be!!!
