Hi folks,
I'm in the market for a daily driver, and I've been asking some questions about 944's on the 944 forum, and it has come up that the late 924S is pretty much the same mechanically as the early 944.
Assuming this is true, which would be the better daily driver. A late 924S (1988 ?) or an early 944 (1983/1984) , and why ?
I thought I'd better ask the experts !
Also, I'm told there was a change to the 2.5 engine in later years from 150 to 160hp .. When did this happen, and how can you tell which engine is which ?
Also, what sort of moeny are we talking about for an "average" condition 924S ?
and lastly, can you folks point me in the direction of some good late 924S's for sale ?
Thanks for any help.

Background :
I bought my first ever Porsche, (a '75 911 2.7) back in July, and I've been bitten by the Porsche bug. As its not really practical to drive that one every day, I'm trying to sell my current daily driver, a '97 Honda CR-V, to fund purchase of a Porsche. I started looking at 944's as a friend has one, and they seem a good drive, and the helpful folks on the 944 forum gave me some good pointers. Since my budget is quite low, someone suggested a 924S as an alternative.
