How future classic??!

You are wrong Des, RS will never reach the status of F40 [;)]

That´s right, the RS will never be an overrated poor quality car with a tendency to burn or break down after a few hot laps.[;)]

Hacki

P.S.: The F 40 is a great car actually, but there´s some truth in the sentence above.

Hacki, I think you make a very important point.

If I was buying a prospective collectible to put into a glass walled garage, then it would have to be a Ferrari, --- and I would buy the most expensive car I could.

If I was buying a car in which to participate --- a car to be a robust partner and teacher, I would without question buy a Porsche. (And have ...)

Hence my personal preference is for mid mileage cars that carry far less of a gamble when one adds back the value of the joy of useful ownership.

In this respect and for me, this Forum is a huge value enhancer, and Des is being proven day by day to be near to the market.

Four RHD's in a week --- and then there were --- how few in the UK ???

Regarding mileage, I'd like to think that top quality maintenance with the replacement of any failed parts with original and new, combined with the ongoing use of any car as intended would build a patina and provenance that would retain value rather than spend it.

The triumph of engineering over image ...

Spot on Chris .... I would also add that 64RS also has an image, that of a very beautiful finely honed 911 in it's final form before the pretty 993.

My wakeup call ...

So whose were these 4 Right Hand Drive cars that sold in one week???

I see Ollie's is STILL up for sale...???

Sounds like dealer bravado to me.....

964RS forum these days is more like pistonheads than the forum for the real Porsche track enthusiasts I remember it once was....

Value this, value that, prices now worth this, ooohhh we will be like ferrari's that......

ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

Someone shove up some onboard youtube laps of a cup car flat out at Spa or something pleeeeease and save all our sanity.....

Hmm, when do 964s become eligible on DDK[:)]??

FFS Jason, one thread on values does not make the 964RS forum like PH!!![8D]

Your car looks stunning Chris. It appears the silver 964 at GT Classics has been sold.

David, Matt's was a good car.

Maritime Blue is a great colour, --- works well with the black tyre rubber skid marks on the bonnet [:D]

Good stuff Ian, there is no mistaking that fabulous sound in a Cup/N-GT with NO carpet to dilute the feel and thrill .... [;)]

Carpet doesn't dilute the feel and thrill Des, it just soaks up any excess moistness. [;)]

Full weight carpet I would agree with Rich. I am sure you have found that tightly woven, lightweight, neatly trimmed carpet doesn't soak up the same level of moistness........

Rich I could compare the experience of a fully stripped out 964RS of carpet and sound deadening to that of not wearaing a jiffy ..... you get the full feel[:D]
