You are wrong Des, RS will never reach the status of F40 []
That´s right, the RS will never be an overrated poor quality car with a tendency to burn or break down after a few hot laps.[]

P.S.: The F 40 is a great car actually, but there´s some truth in the sentence above.
Hacki, I think you make a very important point.
If I was buying a prospective collectible to put into a glass walled garage, then it would have to be a Ferrari, --- and I would buy the most expensive car I could.
If I was buying a car in which to participate --- a car to be a robust partner and teacher, I would without question buy a Porsche. (And have ...)
Hence my personal preference is for mid mileage cars that carry far less of a gamble when one adds back the value of the joy of useful ownership.
In this respect and for me, this Forum is a huge value enhancer, and Des is being proven day by day to be near to the market.
Four RHD's in a week --- and then there were --- how few in the UK ???
Regarding mileage, I'd like to think that top quality maintenance with the replacement of any failed parts with original and new, combined with the ongoing use of any car as intended would build a patina and provenance that would retain value rather than spend it.
