How does your other half view your 944 ?

My mrs has grown to like the 944,i try and get her to drive it but she says its uncomfortable seat position wise..?

My Wife loves my S2 and enjoys driving it although she liked the 924S better, but come to think of it so did I.

In the 5 years I've had 944s Sandy never drove the 2.5 and has only driven the 2.7 round the block once, doesn't like being in it but also is quite happy for me to have it as it makes me happy!

She has a Hyundai Coupe 2.0 which she loves and probably drives fast than me in the 944.

My better half doesn't mind mine she says I need a hobby
But with our first child due in 3 weeks she says its not big enough
As a family car so we went and bought a pug308

Can't wait to take little one out for his/hers first drive in it though

That time will come Ashley...after years of dragging my long suffering family round the paddock at Silverstone, Shelsley and Prescott my daughter (now 20) bagged the other seat last summer in my S2 for Silverstone Classic!! Booked her in to the head massage and nail bar in the paddock, brunch at the fire engine bar, we had a great day out.

He loves both my 944's because he gets to drive them too.

Mind you he has got one of his own, so he is a little spoilt for choice.

I`ve had/build a few cars and the wife did like the 944T as a long distance cruiser - especially in Europe where you really do appreciate what it was built for. It was the quickest most comfortable car on a long run I have ever owned.

I have an early MX5 (eunos) which I was going to strip and track but she`s adopted it and wont let me touch it - she loves it. In fact so do I and heartily recommend them but I still hancker for another 944T and envy you all.

I tried to buy your old turbo last year in Derry but the guy had already made the decision to take it to New Zealand. It was loaded on the container the day after I made my enquiry. Looked like great value for money.

hiya,,my wife as mikes and has never driven the s2 although likes being a passenger and enjoys "gentle" drives, but for her, she finds it too wide and scares her a bit, more then happy for me to have my other "baby" cheers jason p

Difficult to answer, she perceives its unreliable [&o] but in reality my blue one i have owned 6 months has had almost no down time since i bought it and her 2005 Honda Civic has become a time bomb so much so we traded it in last week. [:D]

She won't drive it but tolerates being in it provided i don't press the throttle too hard. As to the costs, well the fact she got £750 as a trade in, in a car she paid £7500 for 5 years ago keeps her quiet . But then we do live 65 mile apart for most of the week and that helps[;)][;)]

My Wife didn't really like the 944T, she said it felt old and was a bit smelly, and she was always worried about the turbo coming when when she least expected it (but didn't complain about that in my Scooby!!)

After I lost the 968 she admitted to liking it, saying it reminded her of her long-lost Scirroco GT and without the turbo she was able to drive it harder and 'got' what they were all about

The Jaaag XK8 was a dream car of hers and she loves wafting around in it, but she did complain that it was bit gutless after her 535D...so that leaves the door open to an XKR quite nicely then...[:D]

Will she not authorise another Porsche then? After a thorough cleaning the 951 now only smells of Porsche interior, which all ten+ year old 944s do. [:D]

Did you ever have any immobiliser issues Jeremy? After the cold Winter Im needing two or three attempts to disengage it - before a second attempt was rarely required.

She knows I will be back in a Porsche some day....

A friend of mine that used to have a 944 sat in mine when I got it and said that the smell was so familiar as a 944 interior and then when I got my 968 another mate sat in it and said the same thing about his old 968, did Porsche imbue their different models with their own niffs?

The immobiliser was surprisingly well behaved, only occasionally did it need 2 attempts and in those cases I found turning the key around usually did the trick
