Hello and welcome, people here will look after any questions you may have, enjoy your car, educated descision there !

Lovely looking Turbo there mate in the fastest colour of course. Loving the front splitter. Will be an addition to mine in the future I think. Whereabouts in the country are you then?

Hi and welcome Very good looking Turbo you have and its very good that we haven't had to ask for pictures [:)] Cheers

There is always much love for this model here [:)] Thanks for the pics and we look forward to further impressions as you drive it more.

Hi,

I am new to this forum (and Porsche ownership) and so I thought I'd say hello.

I've recently bought a 1989 944 Turbo so far I'm really please with it. They seem very much the unloved model, I wonder how many critics have driven the 944 turbo...

Still can not get over the fact that this has only done 59k miles surely this must be one of the lowest mileage 944 turbos in the country [:)] ...

Nice looking car. Thanks for stopping by and posting some piccies. I'm afraid the turbo always was, and always will be, unloved. It's an impressive car, but sits in the shade of the S2 which is the superior model by some margin. That's not to denigrate the turbo - it's a cracker, and I'm glad you are enjoying it. Let us know when you have had enough of it and we'll introduce you to a real 944! Oli. P.S. Regular posters on here will no doubt comment on this post. Please ignore those comments, unless they are fellow S2 owners! [;)]

Oh Oli you never cease to find ways to disappoint us do you [;)] I mean on the chaps inaugral outing and everything. Shame on you and your vastly underpowered, unmodifiable 944 in completely the wrong colour [:D]

Now now Rob - the chap's new and we are meant to be nice to him. Stop pushing this thread off-topic and do start being helpful, old boy. [:)] Now, back to the inferiority of the Turbo compared with the S2 .... Oli. P.S. My S2 is nicely modified, thank you! And it cost a LOT less than the king's ransom you turbo boys seem to pour into your waggons. []

Oli I would hardly call a stiffer elastic band a modification [:D] But seriously though at least your S2 goes (very slowly admitidley) and isn't sat on your drive (isn't that another unobtainable thing down in the smoke a drive?) awaiting an engine rebuild []

I feel your pain Rob, my friend. It would be rude to make capital given your sorry situation. And, for that reason, I'll be uncommonly kind. Maybe you could consider a Ferrari as your next car? Red - check Fast when it works - check Breaks down a lot - check Oli.

Ahh touche! I will skulk off to the corner of this internet forum and turn my desk to face the wall. Then I will plot my revenge, regroup and return stronger than ever. As soon as I can actualy be arsed to get started on my rebuild. Hopefully this might be tomorrow as long as A: I am hangover free and B: It is isn't pissing down!! I don't fancy my chances on either front [&:]

Rob, Hangover-free - only you can control this. But it's not looking good; you're delusional comments thus far on this thread could be a result of alcohol. (Having said that, I know you repair your Turbo with Boddingtons tins so you could be just getting things ready for a good repair session tomorrow!) Rain looks pretty likely tho'. Hope it stays dry for you none the less ... Oli.

Hi Jamie welcome to the best forum in town. Really nice looking turbo. I LOVE MINE [:)] As you have already found out the kiddies are at play as to turbo or S2. I got the same but always remember what I learnt. Feel the boooooooooooooooost[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] Enjoy its a great register.

Welcome! A certain Tiffany Dell said some very nice things about the 944T on 5th gear ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7qOHKSGiJ8) and a Mr Clarkson had the 944T in his top 100 cars ( http://www.944turbo.org.uk/ click on hot100 ) and a Mr D Bell http://944turbo.net/?p=612 likes it. Tony

Nice looking example there, like the splitter I have had mine for 3 years now and have covered 36,000 miles and still love it when the boost rushes in....

Beats me why the market spanks itself into a spending frenzy over all manner of mediocre cars, I have a thing about Escorts (The car that is, Mk1 and 2 specifically), I like them but I cant reconcile how much they go for whilst the 944 which is better in every way is a lot cheaper, good as it means some relative bargains for us but I think really the 944 deserves a higher billing than it gets, another one, and a contemporary of the 944 is the E30 M3, prices have gone mental and I think they are nice but again, is it better than a 944, especially a Turbo, it isnt like the M3 is vastly more rare than a Turbo, 25,000 944 turbos vs 16,000 m3's.

Basically, competition history and eligibility for historic motorsport events. No-one was ever world rally champion in a 944, and no-one spent Saturday weekends watching 944s dice with Cosworth Sierras in saloon car racing.
