Unfortunately it appears they have replaced that with the 310 which looks a lot more video-gamey, but you might find some old stock knocking about.

I think there are lots of Blaupunkt and Beckers of that era and earlier that have an aux input (usually used for CD changer) - use for ipod or phone music. USB not so easy although Solisto may have an option.
Can't think there will be much suitable for a 944 from today's radios - they are all too garish! PH sportscars have loads of old radios kicking about - that's where I got mine from (at half the price they are on ebay). Don't bother ringing them though as they don't have any idea what they have - the only option is go there & have a root around.

Becker Grand Prix ready and waiting for my next 944 turbo.
IMO probably one of the few HUs that look great in a 944. I shall pulling the faithful Mexico Pro out of the daily to put into the '51.
Are you coming up to Rutland Rav?
I have a DAB Blaupunkt which I rate very highly. No USB input but it does have a SD card slot and a facility for 2.5mm jack input - and I have built a 2.5mm jack socket in my armrest storage so can plug music in there if I want to. Having said that, the DAB is superb and I listen to that most of the time.

what Aerial did you need for the DAB unit? Is it an easy install?

Beckers are a good choice (OE fit in modern Porsches as well). Nakamichi always used to be pretty low-key too, and sounded good.

Making DAB aerials is very easy and I made one for pennies from an old bit of TV co-ax cable and some connectors of the right type. It runs behind the glovebox and the working bit is in the passenger side A-pillar. It picks up all the multiplexes you'd ever need (and several more) and reception has yet to drop out on me in the UK.
Here's a piccie of the radio:

... and of the jack input socket I made in the arm rest. (The knurled bit is a plug which is plugged into the pocket, and you can see the TRRS plug on the end of the wire, designed to go into a mobile 'phone.)

I occasionally swap it over for a cheap new Pioneer which supports MP3 discs and an iPod, but the Becker is a far better radio. Unfortunately it doesnt have any sort of aux in feature and Im not aware of any way to do it (other than an FM transmitter on my iPod/Phone).

For any of you brave enough to have amplifiers in a Porsche a Blaupunkt lead can be modified to work with a Becker HU too, but I shall leave that for another time

You can't control the iPod from the radio but it works fine and can be controlled as usual from your iPod
