GTS 4.0

Also very tempted with one, but I could just pop down to OPC Portsmouth, they have a stunning specced one in.

Special paint, active cruise, auto climate...I can't see anything it doesn't have that could have been specced, all for under £80k🤔

^^^ I spotted that one too since I still have the Porsche alerts on after buying my Carmine Red GTS in August... Great looking car and an excellent spec - if I’d not have found mine earlier in the year that would have been on my shopping list!

Just not sure about the colour with the black wheels and accents🤔 also am I going to miss that 981 soundtrack🤔

Why am I still looking at GTS 4.0?

I have to say, I bought my Macan GTS from them, great service.

I must admit I like it… had it been Miami blue I’d have even had a think about swapping it for my Carmine red!

Given the options on the car I’d put up with the colour even if it wasn’t my favourite… we’ve wrapped a couple of cars in the past and the transformation was amazing. You could easily do that here. I’ve not seen as well specced a car as this over the last few months… and I’ve no idea why I’m still looking, I’ve got the GTS already!!

I’ve not experienced the sound of the 981, but the 4.0 GTS with PSE under full chat is amazing! Laugh out loud good the first time I floored in in sport!

Just had a look at the one in Portsmouth - tempting, but I want the experience of speccing my own and in a colour combo I can live with, rather than one I can put up with…

In Sports and Chrono the 981 sounds absolutely amazing So would miss that if the 4.0 doesn’t come close but a test drive will sort that out……

I keep watched the Harry Metcalf review on YouTube and each time I do, that deposit looks more and more likely to leave my bank 😂

If it was at their Bournemouth branch, I would have driven over and viewed it, but it's a bit too far given my uncertainty over the colour. Bournemouth have a shark blue Cayman GTS as a demo maybe I will look at that initially.

To be honest a 2024/5 delivery would suit me better and be very close to the last MY before they go electric, which could make it even more desirable. Plus my 981 would then be ageing although it's a beautiful full specced, low mileage car.

I must have a chat with my OPC. How does it work if you place a deposit on a configured car at a price. Do you then pay every price increase....so in reality you do not know really what the car is going to cost or is it a fixed price?

If you put a deposit on a MY23 for example, and it moves into a MY25, you will pay any price increase. The small print says that Porsche retain the right to change specifications and prices at any time.

Yes thanks, got that from OPC.

Still very tempted as the deposit is refundable until build spec fixed and it goes to build.

I have to sit down with my OPC but on the configurator I can't see how to swap the Alcantara steering wheel for leather when you spec the GTS interior?

That’s almost what I specced up but with Blue roof and silver wheels :)
I just love my current colour of GT Silver and red roof so would almost certainly go with the same... boring😅

I don't think you can change the wheel fabric with GT interior. You can however, spec the GTS interior bits seperately but not too sure how much more/less it would be.

I did opt for a leather wheel instead but sat with the dealer and he sorted it.

Regarding ordering now, yes your deposit is safe until lock in. if you have it laying around spare then give it to them for the sake of less than £100 interest earned in the bank. The bonus due to the economic climate forecasts and so many cars being bought on the never never, wait lists and orders can only reduce and used ones at much reduced prices become available.

My Missus has given me the thumbs up so my deposit is going down tomorrow - not wishing my life away but here’s to Q1 2024 :)

Great result my better half will take more persuading.

My OPC said optimistically a 2024 delivery should be possible but they have 11 orders to fulfill.

Post up your spec when sorted and have a great time at your dealer.

Nice. I'd be tempted to go with the standard GTS suspension drop of 20mm rather than going back to the 10mm. I've got the 20mm on my GTS and have had the 10mm on a prior 718, and am very happy with the standard GTS configuration.

Think a number of people have been advised that LED lights are no longer available from plant.

I've had the dual zone heating on a couple of prior Boxsters and was disappointed that it was not on the 4.0L GTS I bought, but to be honest I don't miss it. I've found the standard set up is, whilst a bit more of a fiddle to use, gives you much more control over heat than the dual zone. In fact on the new GTS order I have in - since July 2021! - I've changed the order back to non dual.

Know it's a bit of a stretch, and have heard there are supply problems with them as well, but the 18 way seats are sooooooo comfortable!

Thanks Jed - agree re the suspension drop and am going to see the OPC tomorrow so will discus the lights and other options. All quite exciting
