Bit late with this post but.....

First time on track with PS4's on my .1 GTS having previously been on Cup2's. Was not sure what to expect.

Morning practice was wet, first run was greasy and it rained for the the second! Third run the sun came out and we had a mostly dry circuit.

PS4's went well. Dropped the pressures to 1.8 / 1.9 bar and they felt good. Certainly better in the wet than Cup 2's!

Pretty happy really considering all the cars above me were Turbo / Supercharged bar one, which was a 991 GT3 and that was PDK (my GTS is manual). The Nissans all had the benefit of Litchfield and were all 700hp +. The Audi had 820hp apparently and the Lotus about the same as the GTS but 500kg less and a big wing. The GTS X51 motor is nice but I wish Porsche had given it the same tune as they use on this motor for the GT4. Thats 30hp less at the top but having caught them on track going into a corner, I just get out dragged no matter the gear I am in.

First number after the car is the time for the first 64yds from a standing start. Forced induction / auto box and 4WD are a big advantage. The speed is the speed across the finish after exiting the chicane. This is about 100yds. Again the grunt of forced induction really made a difference. I held 3rd out of the Chicane which was a bit high. I tried 2nd once but got wheel spin and went sideways!
My average around the circuit was just under 84mph. Only just getting a feel for the tyres on the drying circuit and I think I left a lot of seconds out there as on a flying lap I normally do 1.29.
Picture below shows the dampness of the track. All good fun and managed to drive it home!

Anything below 100secs for a single lap sprint at Goodwood is a decent time. You’ll struggle against the Datsuns as they do the track quite a lot, PT is a handy driver, although previous form might suggest his car won’t exactly be as standard.

Thanks Howard. Given a extra run or two I think I would have been down to 95. Due to 'offs' by some due to the conditions, a few of those above me got additional runs straight after which would have helped massively with the changing conditions. I have trouble with the mind games the entry into 'no name' plays with me. I'm always off the gas well before I need to be there. Something about the wall, the trees and Stirling Moss I think!

Yes, I’ve had a visit to the wall there myself. Nearly caught it, but didn’t quite. The thing is the entry speed is so high. At least you can set yourself up for St Mary’s 🙂
