Dansk Exhaust system middle box removal

My original system is 2 boxes (no cat).
I put the H&S rear section on first, which has a silencer about the same size as the original one, and later I replaced the original front section with the H&S straight through front pipe - so losing the big front silencer.
The car is fairly loud but not ridiculously so, it just sounds 'throaty' - more so on boost at revs obviously but driving round town it's pretty civilised.
There is no resonance/booming/increased noise level etc inside the car either, which had concerned me with losing the front box, but it's turned out to be fine.
At Bedford it was measured at 99-100 static at just over 4000rpm and so was just under the static noise limit but I didn't have any problems on track with the drive by limit even towards the end of the day when I stopped short shifting
Don't know what the silencers are like on a Dansk though.

After I fitted a Dansk rear box to my S2 it was noticeably quieter. A few years later the cat cracked so I had it cut out and replaced with a piece of straight stainless by a local exhaust fitters. This made it slightly fruitier than the standard but not uncomfortably so. I measured 87db at 4000 revs at Bedford

The silencers are very effective on a Dansk, IMHO you get a quieter exhaust than the standard Porsche version.

I found that mine was louder Paul. It settled after a while too and became fruitier still - noticeable, especially with plastic windows.
This was a completely different model, though (944 series one).

I did this to mine, definitely louder but not like something a teenager sticks on a Corsa or little Pug, I guess that 3 litres just sounds meatier than 1.2 or 1.4? I have a cab so I can really hear the difference but I like it. Of course I have little boy racer tendencies anyhow (red calipers, loud stereo etc) so I am really pleased with the new sound.
Me too
