Class 2 Boxster gets trophy at last

The two races at Donington proved my 2.7 Boxster had good pace setting the second fastest lap in race 1 although finishing 6 and 5th.
Qualifying at Brands put me in 4th then I gained 2 places with a great start but had to fight hard to keep them behind to cross the line 2nd in race 1.
Race 2 was harder trying to get past a well driven but slower class 1 car and defending all the time from cars behind, this time in 5th place.
It was a good day for the Hartecch Boxsters as Tom Bradshaw in his clas 1 Boxster S (in the same team) came home 1st in both races.
A day I will remember for a long time

Well done, Stuart, that's great news and it looks very promising for the rest of the season! All the best, John

Donington next weekend

I had a couple of firsts at Donington but for the wrong reasons. It was my first DNF in race 1 and the first time racing without power steering in race 2

Qualifying was ok but yellow flags were out for a long time so I backed off a bit but some drivers posted their best times when the flags were out so that put me 5th for race 1 and 4th for race 2.

Race 1 was shaping up to be a good one but a gear selection problem caused me to lose concentration and I had a trip through the gravel on a bend at 80mph. That was ok but I ripped a power steering pipe off so that was the end of the race for me.

The pipe could not be fixed for race 2 so after a drive around the paddock to try it out I thought it would be ok for the race, it was ok but I have never held the wheel so tight before and it was really heavy. I started 4th but lost a couple of places to finish 6th.

Porsche Club Motorsport are part of this weekend with qualifying and 2 races on Saturday.

Our tickets have come from the MG car club and we have 1 pair extra, admission only but the race centre will be there for tea and coffee as you are a Porsche Club member.
One pair only F O C who wants them, someone will meet you at the gate at Silverstone to get you in, we even have a spare car pass for the paddock.

Also on Sunday I have been given the opportunity to race in the class 1 Boxster with Marcus in the Enduro race. Baz asked me if I wanted to give it a go (silly question)

Regards Stuart
