Hi All,

Anyone go to the Chips Away demo at the Glasgow meet? Couldn' t make it myself,
but interested to hear how it went.

Also, has anyone on here used the Glasgow branch of Wicked Wheels for Alloy
wheel repair?

Colin

Colin you beat me to it[] as a further ? are they demonstrating at the Edinburgh meeting does anyone know?

Ditto to that request - I had planned to be at the Glasow meeting as I have a few chips on the edge of the doors that need attending to. Anybody got the contact number?

Not many replies to my post so I went ahead anyway. The main problem on my car was the door edges - see photos. Good service (came to my work) and fair price.
The colours are the same, its just the photo' s were taken on different days.

Jeff, what photo' s? what did you all get done and how much did it cost? if its not to cheeky to ask[:-]

Sorry about that - here they are. I had the door edges done which really marred the appearence, and a few chips on the front wings , bonnet, bumper. The four white lines you see on one of the before pictures are reflections, not scratches. Cost 140 inc vat and he was working on the car for 4 hours.
Here are before and after pics.

Hi Jeff, I would guess that you would give them a glowing report? and if so what is their No.[:)]

Chips Away is franchised - the guy I used covers certain postcode areas in Glasgow. Call Gary on 07813 660347 to see if he covers your area or search for Chips Away on the web-you can e-mail them and they will give you the number of the nearest agent.
One or two of the chips on my bonnet are still visible, but he reckons there is about 8 coats of paint on it and would take an age to keep on putting on the layers. My main concern was the door edges which are sorted - plus he left the paint so I can try putting more layers on the bonnet with a fine brush.
Cheers

I got a guy in Guildford Surrey

Some people may call you a very lucky boy..... Some people may not.....

Any chance you can post his number. I desparately need someone to sort out my front end. He' s not getting anywhere near my rear though.....

Looks like he made a lovely job of it Jeff, and very reasonably priced.

May have to get the local Reading one to sort out a few on mine, the door edges on mine are worn in that you can see the base coat through the top coat.

What did he do to prep the surface ?
Did he use a mini spray gun ??

Elliot
He did the job in the car-park on the day we were trying to sort out the Microsoft virus so I never had chance to see how he prepped the areas to be sprayed. Worth asking the question about larger areas, I would guess a lot would depend on the colour.
Cheers
