Hi all,

This will be my first PCGB event as a Porsche owner, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you. I'll be attending in my Miami Blue 718 Cayman.

I'm normally quite quiet around people I don't know so if you see me come and say hello.

I'm looking forward to the show, meeting new people and attending more events in the future. I've been a member of PCGB for about 11 months but only had my 718 for 2 weeks.

Thanks,
Richard.

Hi Richard,

Nice to hear from you. I'll bet you're having fun getting to know your new Cayman - I'll bet it looks beautiful in Miami Blue [:)]

Unfortunately, I shan't be there and neither will Tom - we have hillclimbing commitments! I suggest you make yourself known to Kevan Sutherns who is the Cayman Register Secretary. He will be there though he will be part of the Concours Judging team. The gazebo will be there offering tea and coffee and maybe a biscuit or two! They will be pleased to see you and I am sure will make you feel welcome.

I don't know where you live but we have our Regional Meeting next Monday at the Coopers Arms, Weston on Trent which is just off the A50 Derby Southern Bypass. The meeting starts around 8.00 p.m. but many of us take advantage of the brilliant carvery first or do a bit of tyre kicking in the car park. We generally have a good turn out of members and a huge variety of cars old and new.

We would love to see you there too.

Enjoy Chatsworth!

Alison and I had a great day there too - including winning a bottle of Prosecco, which we allowed to age gently until approx 7.30 in the evening!

Thanks to all the hard working organisers and volunteers.

Hi Richard
This was my 1st PCGB event as a Porsche owner. I took ownership of a new 991.2 S4 in Sapphire blue back in October last year. I was parked on the opposite side of the road from you ;) Sorry I did not read this thread until after the event :( My wife and I both agreed, apart from Sapphire blue, Miami Blue is right up there as being one of the best colours! (However we may be biased as all the cars we have owned have been various shades of blue). I think the colour Miami Blue does not capture accurately in photos and videos, as from remembering the colour yesterday and looking at my own photos and video they look noticeably different. However this might have been due to the fact that the photos and video taken where from my iPhone and not my main camera (which I brought to the event but I forgot to check the battery status before the day and my Sony RX100III was totally dead :( - 1st time this has ever happened!)

I very much liked the pale grey stitching in the interior as well :) and I also like the alloy wheel combination as I chose the same as well :)

My wife and I enjoyed the event and aim to attend next year's event and let's hope we have another sunny day as we did this year. We are only just south of Nottingham, so Chatsworth is not too far for us.

Christine and myself, would like to thank all involved at Porsche Club R8 for arranging a tuely fabulous day at Chatsworth yesterday.

It was great to chat to many Porsche owners and spend a wonderful afternoon wandering around the magnificent and highly manicured gardens of Chatsworth.

Hope to meet you all again very soon.

Kind Regards
Christine and David Wood

Apologies for the delay in replying, didn't get chance yesterday.

I noticed your car as soon as I pulled up, and thought what fantastic taste in wheels you have ;) I agree with you about the the blue shades, Sapphire Blue was second on my list. I'm also a blue car person, though I have had a few red cars recently and one white one. But blue has been the preferred colour choice.

Your car looks absolutely stunning, and I loved the colour of your interior. I've got the Sport-Tex interior and was originally going to go with the Graphite Blue and Crayon but was a bit worried about marking the Crayon bits. I'm really pleased with the interior of mine though, the seat fabric is great (I don't like leather seats, and really don't like alcantara) and didn't expect the contrasting stitching but I agree that it does look good.

I live in Nottingham so the journey up to Chatsworth was good. I did go last year (weather was terrible) but as I wasn't a Porsche owner then so it didn't count.

Are you going to be attending any of the R8 meets? There's a monthly meet at a pub on the first Monday of the month and I plan on attending the August one. I'll also be attending Silverstone Classic and I'm thinking of going along to the Yorkshire Porsche Festival at Lotherton Hall on the 23rd july.

Shame we didn't get chance to meet and have a chat about our first Porsche's, hope to meet you at another event soon.

I too had reservations for the Graphite Blue and Crayon combo leather thinking the off-white would be liable to visible marking so went with all Graphite Blue leather, When I spec'ed mine the Sport-Tex interior was not available, missed it by a few weeks. I have ordered my ticket for the Yorkshire Porsche Festival, hoping it will be a good sunny day! so may well see you in a few weeks!

Just a random pic of the event!

Lovely picture - it really captures the relaxed atmosphere of the day. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I'm sorry we weren't there - it's a busy racing season!

I shall be at Silverstone dishing out the coffee (as usual!) so pop in to the Club stand and say hello!

There are a couple of R8 members going up to the Yorkshire event (https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=969619)
if you fancy joining them - otherwise hopefully see you at the August meeting. [:)]

Where to read more about events like that? With this quarantine situation, it looks like such gatherings were all cancelled, right. Last year it was a struggle to find anything of this kind. It is good we all have online entertainments now. I like online betting. And my favorite resources are betting sites in india https://online-bookmakers.com/en/indian-betting-sites/ . Do you like betting?
