Caymen at Duxford 9th Feb 2020

Hi Helen,

I'm still planning to give it a go. Completely understand if you would rather head for home, 3 hours is more than enough in rubbish weather.

if we don't see you today, thanks for organising, sure we will catch up at an event later in the year.

Gary

Unfortunately, I’m not going to make it. The Cup 2s on my GT4 will be dire in this weather.

Think the general consensus is to give it a miss today and reschedule at a later date. I’m sure they will accept our tickets already purchased in good faith. I’ll check with Helen and we’ll decide on a revised date and advise accordingly. Regards

Mike

If anyone was still thinking of going Duxford Web site now states that they are CLOSED due to the weather conditions.

Looking forward to seeing you at a future rescheduled event.

Russ

Helen,

Very disappointing for those planning to attend, particularly for you who've made such a trek, but hardly surprising given the dreadful weather conditions. For those who haven't been before, being a WW2 operational airfield in Cambs, Duxford is very open and exposed to the elements, so hardly surprising that they've decided to close - presumably on safety grounds.

I'm sure that people who've bought tickets will either be able to claim a refund or use them later in the year and I look forward to attending a rescheduled event in calmer times.

Jeff

hi,

Made it up to Duxford and back. The guy from Duxford, that came along the queue to tell us it was closed, said that everybody who has pre paid tickets will be emailed regarding a refund or re schedule.

Can't help the weather, in the end we had quite a decent drive out.

Regards

Gary

After today's cancellation due to Storm Ciara it has been suggested we reschedule for two weeks time-so Sunday 23 February - same time same place!

If you pre-purchased an entrance ticket hang on to it as it will still be valid.

Please post here if you can make this revised date and we'll see if it suits sufficient members to make it a viable alternative.

Many thanks,

Mike

Paul & I from R24 will be going on the 23rd in Caymans, a 718 in Guards Red and a 987.1 S in Meteor Grey. Looking forward to meeting some other Caymanites.

Fingers crossed we can have ONE weekend without a named storm disrupting things :D

The visit to IWM Duxford postponed from 9th February is on this Sunday 23 February. You can use your pre-purchased entrance ticket from last time, so don't forget to bring it with you.

We will meet in the car park at 10am or just inside the main entrance if wet!!

Looking forward to seeing you then.

Regards
