Attention message on my dash CAYMAN 981. PADM (OPC or Indy)

The first time this showed up was a few days before my 1st service (A). I did not think much about it, OPC never told me anything about it so ignorence was bliss at the time. Now the attention message has displayed again. "PADM disabled service required Driviing Permitted". I roughly have 35,000 miles and I am outside of warranty and will be 5 years of age come 1st of September. I havent driven my car much since my last service back in August and have only done roughly 3k miles.

Im debating whether to take it to my OPC West London Porsche centre (not keen on being screwed over with the cost of a OPC) or try an Indy? No5 GARAGE is the closest because I live in the Chiswick Area.

Wha would you do? Does nyaone have any experience with No5 GARAGE or suggest an alternative.

Thanks in advanced.

Cais,

Unfortunately active engine mount failures aren't rare and are expensive to replace out of warranty, and I assume that the mounts function perfectly well in non-active mode for normal driving.

You might want to contact Porsche Torque http://www.porsche-torque.co.uk/ who are in Uxbridge. I've no experience with them but they're a well-established Independent whose owner Sid Malik has a wealth of Porsche experience.

I think you’ll find that it’s the gearbox which has the active mounts, not the engine, and only on 981s with Sports Chrono.

Strictly speaking that's correct Stephen for the mid-engined rather than the rear engined cars - although I'd point out that being a transaxle, more correctly it's a transmission rather than a gearbox. [;)].

Porsche cover both bases by labelling them Active Drivetrain Mounts.

Thanks for the replies! FYI, I do have the Sports chronos package on my normal 981. I will check out the uxbridge as its the first closest garage.
