Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: kitchens http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/motoring/richard-hammond-racy-a45-amgs-2116683 it is not a Porsche but had run in a AMG A45 tonight and all i can say is OMG that car is insane .My son works for MB and won a competition for a MB for the weekend and was offered this car.I have never been in as quick a car in all my life makes the Spyder feel like driving Miss Daisey and all from a 4 cylinder car but sadly you only get 15mpg when you drive that hard . Brian
If I was Porsche I'd say, think of a race car. A good chassis will cost you £x and an engine will cost you £y. Porsche make brilliantly capable chassis and if you could buy the 987 Spyder without an engine they'd still want as much as the AMG 45 costs for the full car. Porsche does make more powerful engines but add one to the chassis would take the Spyder beyond the price point it was aimed at. To justify their claim Porsche would say consider the 424bhp £100K Audi R8 V8 Spyder. The 987 Spyder beats it in chassis capability, carrying more speed through bends etc. That is without one of their more potent engines dropped in the Spyder. We'd like to see an A45 AMG go around a track with a Spyder and see which one takes you faster then[;)] So the chassis alone has earned its worth. Now, how much would you be willing to pay for a higher tier of Porsche engine to go with it! No, I don't work for Porsche! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im5BSKMd0Ss&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Fresh very low miles late Spyder for anyone on the look today Seller has worded the advert badly and there is only one single picture of the car! Thanks. That road version looks like it could intimidate a Carrera GT, in looks as well as performance.

Had a good 4.5 hour drive from Laddingford Kent back to North Wales, Traffic was horrendous! wasn't easiest of jobs getting out when I arrived home [] On another note, my current insurers (Hastings) only wanted an extra £68 to swap policy (Comprehensive) which runs till February. I have been quoted as little as £230/year from Swift and I have had 2 similar quotes of around £600 from Porsche specialists Mannings and our PCGB partners Lockton. These latter ones will allow repairs at an OPC and will include unlimited track days so I am tempted to use one of them come February [8|]

very very nice If I only had 1 car it would be that car/colour. they are far better than any one would ever think.

One thing I can't figure out is.... Are the front LED's supposed to be on all the time or are they just side lights? I thought they were always on with ignition as 'Daylights'. Mine only come on as side lights :(

Thanks Steve, It would be rude not to!
Great stuff Andy. We need Rob to start a thread on that one to encourage people along [;)] Oh, and here's a pic for Flat 6....I snapped it at our Spa trackday last year. The owner took it around the track until it got black flagged for noise. [&o]
