Aircon malfunction 992.1 C4S (2019)

The aircon on my C4S is refusing to work. The fan does work, but just blows air. Using the PCM display, the A/C ‘button’ does light up for only for a second or two before disappearing and the ‘A/C off’ message appears on the dash. Any suggestions for an easy fix please? Or is it inevitably a trip to the dealer? Many thanks
 
Common symptom of low refrigerant gas and try free air con check where it will check gas level in the system - may just need top up.

Otherwise, check for fault codes and methodically work through the system.
 
A decent diagnostic device will tell you the refrigerant pressure that the car is seeing, but A/C switching off can also be a symptom of a sensor reading "odd" values - so if there are no codes then get live readings from the a/c related sensors and see if everything looks "normal" - I have seen one car where the interior temp sensor was swinging between -50 deg c and +45 deg c every few seconds and another where the refrigerant pressure sensor was happily reporting 53bar - when the operating range is somewhere between 11 and 17 ish .....
 
Thanks Malarcy. I’m going to borrow a device from a neighbour today and find out some more hopefully. Finding the OBD port wasn’t easy but I got there eventually! Google told me to look to the left side of the driver’s footwell, but it’s actually to the right, above the accelerator.

Porsche often "mirror" stuff like this lhd vs rhd - chances are google (or more likely Gemini) decided to give you "guess" dressed as "fact" - and reported a US post giving the location.
 
Thanks again Malarcy. Update: so my neighbour’s ‘pro’ OBD scanner is reporting no faults at all. The aircon hasn’t miraculously corrected itself; it still switches off after very briefly after lighting up. So this is beginning to look like it may be malfunctioning sensors, as you suggested in your first reply of 18th August.
 
A faulty sensor wouldn't necessarily generate a code - that would require the modules recognise an "implausible" signal - you may be able to spot something if the reader you used was able to read live values of sensors - you can often spot things that looks odd ( like one sensor saying -50deg C and another saying +20 for example)
