Hi,
I have replaced my fan motor and noticed the 2 seals on the shut off flaps have perished.
I am struggling to find a replacement, my other option is to make a couple.
Can anyone point me in the right direction if there are any spares and where to get them from
Thanks in advance
Jason

The same happened to our valves (as in your picture) for fresh air, it was years ago but I think I used cycle inner-tube to cut new seals. Steve

Hey Jason

Below an old post of mine from impact bumpers, did you get your flaps sorted, I think I still have the neoprene if you need some

A couple of years back had a good trip to Le Mans classic LE ran like a dream shame about the weather, but just got back to Folkestone on Eurotunnel turned on the ignition and smoke started pouring out of the fresh air vent, just the worst place this can happen I thought! lots of cars behind, started her up and got off the train, started stripping out all the luggage and carpet etc but no smoke here I thought, must be the radio was my next thought so unplugged all this but still lots of smoke when I turned on the ignition,

yes you have guessed it “fresh air motor” just happened to be switched on and f***ed! stripped down and ordered from type 911 but the 60mm rubbers with a 40mm hole on the flaps had degenerated beyond service and are not available.

The seal for the fresh air flaps is what appears to be a 60mm x 5mm piece of neoprene with a 40mm hole in it sandwiched between the brass plates, I made a couple as shown in the photo out of 1.5mm rubber but does not do the job.

My other hobby is scuba, bsac dive leader, my son was 14 and had been a pady diver since 10 but now it was his time to become a proper diver and do some British waters, we were booked on a boat which I have used for years out from Weymouth over the Aug Bank Hol’s so he needs a new wet suit, too young for a dry suit and besides he should get cold and wet like we use to!

Enough of that, what I was getting to is we were picking up his suit from a suit manufacture (OThree) in Portland so thought I am sure they must have some 5mm neoprene laying around.

Othree supplied me with the 5mm neoprene, they gave me enough to do about 50 seals! cut the discs at 64mm with the 40mm hole in the centre and assembled but the neoprene kept squeezing out between the brass discs so cut 2 x others with just a small hole for the M5 bolt and this worked, assembled and all good.

If anyone needs to do the above I have plenty left so just ask!
