Ace Cafe London Meet on Monday

Love to come but a funeral at some crazy hour next morning precludes it - next month though.

Have a good evening.

I'm actually going to be there this month, promise!

That has probably guaranteed that VJ won't start now [&:]

Looking forward to seeing VJ; say, can everyone who has named their Porsche drop me a PM; would love to include the name and short history of origin (of the name) in our London region PP column at some point...

Kish,

really sorry but I have been asked to go a Residents Association meeting that had been post poned, so will have to be next time, or down in the Richmond evening

Sure, see you in Richmond... BTW, Londoners and neighbouring regions: keep Wednesday, 31st of January, 2007 evening free... no excuse will be accepted [:)]

Great meeting last night (particularly as we had 80% of the Scottish Tour team there [:)]).

Not quite so over run with BMW's this time, and Porsches in prime position - as it should be.

There were several former ACE virgins who said what a great venue it was. Very much looking forward to January, when we can have the car park to ourselves, and should hopefully drag along a few more people from R11 to swell the numbers.

to Adam and Jason, who drove all the way from Dorchester for the meet; we met at Little Chef over the Eynsham Hall Fest weekend and I think I oversold the Ace Cafe meet [;)] hope it met your expectations. I'm sure you had a good time and it was worth the trip (photos on the way).

Hope to see you again.

Kind regards,
Kish

My sincere apologies that I was not able to be there last night. I had an almighty diary calamity with 3 events on the same evening!!! [&:] Nevertheless, I hope to see you next month (and with my car back!)

Think we had a record number of non-R20 attendence yesterday!

I thought everyone gave their cars names [:)]

"Beaky" was the name past on from his previous owner but fairly easy to establish its source due to the number plate E409 BKE

You will perhaps note from my signature that all our other cars have names:-

"Jasper" the Jag 'cos it started Ja... and had a friendly name but with a sting in the tail - we used to call wasps "Jaspers" for some reason.

"Fifi" the Land Rover - 'cos Fifi seems the most ridiculous name for a Land Rover. Also it has a French sound to it and Fifi spent some time in France, and, as a kid I fancied the Frog next door on Hector's House.[:-]

We also had "Fred The Freelander" Fr** and Fred was a particularly reliable workshop manager I knew.

"Sluggy" The Westfield, because when my father first saw it he said "It looks like a green slug"

"Lancelot" the Land Rover Discovery, "Jeffry" The Granada, "Little Car" a white 944 Lux ('cos it was little in comparison to Beaky, Fifi & Fred), "George" the Sierra and others that I forget.

It all works quite well as, when I leave the house, Belinda asks "Are you going in Jasper or Beaky?"

Thanks for the invite Kish. We had a good night and we have been meaning to get to the ace cafe for quite some time! [:)][FONT=verdana, geneva"]We will definitely be up for the Porsche only meet in January! Be good to see that car park full or Porsche's rather than beemers [:D][FONT=verdana, geneva"]Thanks again.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Sorry the photos I took of your cars are a bit dull; I only had my poor second generation digital camera on me. I'm sure Rick will drop his cannell3 magic link here any time now...
Hint, hint Rick [;)]
