991.2 Carrera S turbo failure

$5 days now and just got it back.
Does anyone know what the BHP should at the wheels, I cannot believe it should be 344HP when Porsche advertise it as 420HP.

A dyno run determines torque at the wheels, computes HP, and calculates drive train losses to get flywheel power.

Did you get a print of the dyno run? Normally it would show/graph flywheel and wheel hp and torque.

People often quote 15% drive train loss between flywheel and wheel HP but it varies and I've seen higher losses. It is different PDK v manual.

I'd go back to the place that ran the dyno test to get both HP numbers & torque if you don't have them and post the graph here so we have a little more context.

Thanks very much
I have the reports but don't know how to put them on the site, is there anyway i could email them to you?

Thanks, I feel a little calmer now having got the car back although it still not correct. I have edited the post.
trying to find out what the HP at the wheels should be

Dynos are most useful comparing before and after modifications, i.e. the delta would be valid. As for absolute measures, different maker's dynos will give different numbers; temperature, placement on rollers etc are also variables. The questions I would have of the dyno run was whether it was with the car in dyno mode (this switches off all the safety systems) and whether they have run other Porsche cars (and were they showing stock power levels)?

The chart you posted shows at the wheel 326ft/lb and 295hp and 345hp flywheel. Porsche claim 420hp and 500nm (369ft/lb) flywheel torque so the dyno results you have posted are clearly low.

Has the OPC accepted the dyno results as indicative of a down at power engine?

In a word no they don't accept that the power is down, they have offered me a free service and additional years warranty. They replaced the second turbo although I said that the power loss was since the changed the blown turbo. I can at least enjoy it instead of having it in parked up in their workshop.
I might find another OPC in the winter
Thanks again
