981 Safety Recall

Sounds like a plan Mark. Unless the joint is actually leaking I’m sure that it will be OK until next year when presumably you’ll get Ninemeister to do the service too.

Jeff

Definitely wait and get your Indi to change them.

Mine charged around £290 if I remember correctly and used S/S replacements rather than mild steel.

Not long before I bought my 2012 981 the exhaust joints were replaced by Porsche in Nottingham.

Not long after buying the car, a few of the achillies heels of the car came to light, one being these OE mild steel bolts.

As they had been recently replaced by Porsche with OE mild steel bolts M8 x 35mm, I decided to replace them with stainless.

I did this back in August 2017.

I used SS A4 M8 x 30mm socket head button screw "bolts", M8 serrated flange nuts & washers bought from Westfield Fasteners.

Had to replace one of the joints on this flange a while back, 10 minute job with the SS bolts.

I also found one of the rear mild steel exhaust clamps for the tailpipe section badly corroded, in an effort to remove it the strap fractured.

I replaced both the clamps with Mikalor W4 59-63mm clamps.

Other OE clamps I managed to remove the corroded M8 mild steel bolts and replace with M8 stainless button head screws.
