964 Technical Seminar!! anyone interested?

As a new reader it does seem rather a bizarre situation. On joining a few weeks ago I expressed an interest in the technical seminar. Then a notice came through my regional facebook site with a link to the Swindon event. I booked, not being aware that it was a different event than the one being mentioned here? I posted a note to say the booking was confirmed (the post was almost immediately removed)???

I would be interested in a more central location (North West based) but will go to the Swindon event if its the only event happening. I would go to any event in reach as you can't gain enough knowledge about these cars. Don't really want to get into any politics as you have to deal with that at work.

However I am not seeing much technical discussion on this site since joining? I have added a new thread with a technical question to see if we can't get us on the right track?

Regards

Peter

Hi Peter,

curious, did your post disappear from this forum or the facebook page ?

Nick

This forum, I had a email telling me my post had been permanently removed. Possibly this was an error?

Hi Peter

This is very odd.

I have checked the Moderator and Admin log and I can see that no post has been deleted from this thread. In any case they should only be sent to the recycle bin, just in case there is a dispute.

Could you PM me your email address. We can then discuss the email you received and look into this in more depth.

Like I said this is very odd.

Peter, I removed your post as you were talking about the Swindon Day and not the Tech day that I was organising in Birmingham.

This was going to cause confusion, as it well did, from the phonecalls I had to deal with.

I clicked the delete with email option Peter Bull, but it didn't give the option of sending a message to the poster as the reason why I had done this.

Hi David As you know Moderators should send to the Recycle Bin - just in case they need to be retrieved. There is an option to send the poster and email and send posts to the Recycle Bin. When you go to Manage (bottom right of each post) you have 3 options. 1 Send to recycle bin 2 Delete Permanently 3 More options Select option 3 and this is what you get: (ignore what it says about 'test' at the top)

Check the 'Send mail' and then send to the Recycle Bin Hope that helps.

Hi All

As I mentioned I was not too worried about the deleted post, but a little confused. It is now clear there were two events, I was unaware that the one you were arranging and the notice through my region were two different events. I booked the Swindon one, but would be very happy to attend one in Birmingham too, can't get too much information.

Regards

Peter

Colin, it's because people are posting messages about Swindon that I'm removing them as it is nothing to do with the event I was working on and is adding to the confusion. If you want to talk about Swindon start your own thread.
