964 Technical Seminar!! anyone interested?

David,

I think, because I have never sent a PM before, it was not active.

All should be working now though.

Colin

Not yet I'm afraid, I had it all sorted but then let down on the venue, so likely to be early next year.

Winter blues... just put the car away for a while.

So, I'm just wondering, is this great sounding seminar actually ever going to happen?

Has anyone really got any momentum on this or should a group of us get together and organise something? I'm not moaning but I'm beginning to wonder if there a heartbeat in this register or does it need a kick up the bum? The 993 register managed to get this done.

Have any of the usual experts been approached to run this? I would imaging that a number of garages would be sympathetic to hosting this or is there "history' preventing this type of approach? So c'mon, lets get this moving or we'll still be talking about it in 6 months time and I suffer from a short attention span! [8|]

Any thoughts anybody?

Get #TecSem done!

Hi

New to the forum and seeing the technical seminar I am interested in attending (am in the process of a full 964 restoration).

Thanks

Peter Davies

I'm expecting to get this sorted at the end of Feb and it'll be in the West Midlands. More news soon.

I have had to cancel the day because basically my day has been hijacked by CH.

I've had phone calls from members who are very confused thinking that they were going to my day in Swindon.

CH are putting on a corporate day as you will see.

CH knew I was putting the day on but chose to torpedo my day.

They have history of doing this sort of thing.

Hi David

Surely the Register Director could help out here and make the choice in your favour especially for all the work you do for the register.

Peter, I have sent email to the Register Director in the past regards the treatment I was getting regards PP submissions in June ‘19 and had no reply. So I won’t be using him.

Evidently it isn’t just me he’s not replying to, from what I’ve read on the forum.

This is all academic now as the deal with getting Paul Howells onboard was it had to be outside racing season. I was finishing details with service manager at OPC in Birmingham with view to letting everyone know this Friday gone and having it on Saturday the 29th of this month, when I heard the news.

This is not the 1st time this has happened, Maurice said he had had to beg with CH to be allowed at the table with the other invited guests when they organised a Tech Day without telling him.

With myself though CH knew I was organising this last June because while I was getting a mailchimp message sent to 964 owners, one of the team took over the phone call and said that they were already organising one and had been working with my assistant.

I don't have an assistant.

They tried to pressure me to go along with their version but I wanted a venue more central so that the northern regions would be able to attend and also to have enthusiasts like myself and Paul who worked on their cars, as opposed to just the commercial OPC view.

Whatever the politics are.. I’m signed up. Hopefully will still be interesting.. if Swindon OPC are as passionate and experienced with the older cars as my local OPC in Bournemouth, it’ll be an insightful event.

I don't understand what is going on [&:]

David said it was cancelled????

Others have paid up too, is it on or is it off?

The session David was organising in Midlands is not going ahead. The pcgb organized session in Swindon is going ahead.
