944 Memory lane

My first ever trackday at Croft (2001), that is a 355 I had just passed behind me (nice chap, he had only just bought it after crashing his 348 on track) - there was also a factory 968 Turbo on the day not seen one since!

The essential styling lightweight, it probably floated off somewhere as last MOT in 2010 - but then I cant talk 2011 was when my coupe was last on the road - it has done some trackdays since but not many, this year?

The good old days...the Titanic days were the best, I have many fond memories from those far off never to be repeated days..

Pete

Outstanding photos of the absolute best of times. Are you sure you haven't been plundering my hard drive as I seem to have a lot of the same photos :)

I had forgotten the weather balloon incident ... but not the air bed... or the following morning when we found him half in and half out of his tent wrapped in the remnants of his LiLo.

Porsche at the hill event, Knockhill a few years ago.

How long has it been since the last Rutland meeting? I went to 2 or 3 of those, and if you weren't from the Titanic days, it's likely you'd get ignored by the old guard. Compared to something like the big Ford RS or VW GTi meetings, there seemed to be a real clique element at Porsche gatherings. Apart from the likes of Diver 944, Mark K and the guy that took the pictures, everyone else seemed like hard work.

Ouch burned! :)

Ha, that's what I thought! Ouch! [:D]

I've been to a couple of the Rutland events and got on well with everyone I met (or so I thought!).

Maybe this is done and I've missed it but I think it would be good to have everybody put their forum name on their cars though for 944 events. It's such a busy forum with lots going on.

This is such a great thread! I love all these pictures. I don't have too many of mine in the past. I've only owned it for 12 years so a lot of these predate my ownership.

Makes me want to get more involved in events though. Maybe this year....

Thanks so much for posting!

Not intentional, but some of us - from titanic - had known each other for many years and only got to meet once or twice a year so there was a certain amount of catching up.
I only made it to 1 or 2 of the meets, the first one and the one pictured.
Guy that took the pictures? probably Mike - our current register secretary. I did always think we should have name badges that covered our forum and real names at the meets! I didn't know any of you before I had a 944 :)

Another option for a new clubhouse? mobile and lots of parking inside - maybe more in the Buggati owners club price range though.

And as you don't see them available and probably easy to produce now Carbon sill plates (mine from 2004)
