can someone tell me why it wouldn't be easier and probably cheaper to just replace the lump with a 16valve unit and have it chipped ? Surely you'd achieve a similar power increase ? I'm sure there must be a good reason why you can't do this .

Thats a perfectly good option..Im interested in doing this for my own knowledge tbh. If I can tune this engine ill get a turbo further down the line and apply the same knowledge to tuning that.

Edit:

I think ive sourced a device that will erase and reprogram the chip in the late DME. As well as a few spare chips.

seems like real time adjustment is in the works...not yet though.
