A couple of pictures of the car collected today.

The reply to my question at the start is 11 months.

Hi Adrian...... At last eh!.... 718GTS is looking great, I love the colour combination and especially the interior. Interesting to hear continued details of your ownership experiance.

I hope that you enjoy the car and look forward to seeing it during the year.

Thanks for your kind words. We are chuffed with the combo [external colour and the sport-tex two tone interior we have gone with]. It really looks good with the night blue metallic paint that we choose that picks up the flakes in the sunlight.

I'm particularly like the aluminium gear level (a no cost exclusive option) over the standard offering and the leather casing around the steering wheel column to keep the crayon stitch themed visuals through the entire car.

I decided to fit Zunsport grilles from the off, so they went on last night. Heard horror stories about stones mashing up the radiators [both cost and delay to get sorted]....it seems the GTS is fair game for stones at high speed. Seems so strange when the likes of a GT3 get them integral. As easy to fit can be taken off when needing OPC support.

Hope to catch up later on and will be filing some more reports along the way.

Regards

Adrian

On a practical note, I did not expect to find that the 718 GTS would be a tad wider than my 991 Targa 4S.

I have a tight garage and the car is always put into an Air Chamber. Goes back to days of when we had rats in the garage and taking up home in a 986 Boxster S ( engine bay ) over ten years ago. Country living brings challenges. Best way to put a stop to that. Anyway. The electric mirrors make the car so tight on tolerance I find I now to move out to our barn for summer use and will park back in the garage over winter. This helps my wife who is petrified she will crunch the car whilst manoeuvring to maximise the use and ease of access.

167 miles now on the clock. We are responsible for 151 miles. The first 16 miles being on the clock when we collected. Keeping the revs below 4K for first 1200 miles. We took advantage of the lovely weekend for a beer run yesterday out near Marlborough to a favourite haunt and then whizz around the roads near us this morning. A picture up on the Downs near the Lambourn Gallops below. Noticing the really smooth power delivery. I can detect the tweaks to the engine sound with the new exhaust for 2019...the acoustics have improved it seems. If you have picked up Nick Murray latest video this expands that.

https://www.youtube.com/w...-YCLvZ1bA6Q&t=194s The six speed gearbox is great. Really is a couple of steps forward over my prior 991 Targa 4S. The Zunsport grilles doing a good job.

I cleaned off the worst of the pickelling on the silencers with the and then polished up with Autosol metal polish. I’ll revisit that post my trip to France in the beginning of May. A couple of pre and post pictures can be found at instagram #718_porsche_boxster_gts

At 419 miles on the clock, since collection some five weeks ago, we had our hour long OPC tutorial on the PCM today. A new idea apparently, since the Gen 3 release delivered. My Macan is Gen 2 so know most of it, but worth the time to see how well the latest PCM has moved on.

Next week, we tour France to complete the car's running-in process. By the time we get back will have over 2K on the clock and will be able the explore the revs over 4K. :ROFLMAO:
