Mechanical tweaks include a wider body that's usually reserved for Carrera 4 models, dynamic cornering lights, a specially tuned PASM suspension system and a sports exhaust.
With the seven-speed manual transmission the 911 50 Years Edition can dispatch the 0-62mph sprint in 4.5sec and hit 186mph.
In dual-clutch automatic 'PDK' form, it can achieve 0-62mph in a quicker 4.3sec but reach a slightly slower 185mph. Combined economy is a claimed 29.7mpg and 32.5mpg respectively.
Styling changes include 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels inspired by the classic Fuchs wheels, special badges, different wing mirrors, two colour choices unique to the 50 Years Edition and bespoke chrome trim.
Inside, there are myriad modifications that pay homage to the original 911. The dials are finished in green, with white pointer needles and silver caps on the instrument pivot pins, while the seat fabric is reminiscent of the original tartan design from the 1960s.
Additionally, the trim inlays on the dashboard, door cards, centre console and transmission surround are finished in brushed aluminium.
Standard equipment includes a limited-slip differential with torque vectoring, 14-way electrically adjustable seats, a 4.6-inch colour sat-nav and media system, climate control and bi-xenon headlights.
The Porsche 911 50 Years Edition is available to order now, priced from £92,257. The first UK deliveries will arrive in September.

No doubt it will look better in the flesh - but hardly a celebration[&:] with choice of colours
Two unique colours are available: darker Graphite Grey and a lighter Geyser Grey metallic
Could have been worse the the Asian market would have preferred gold [&:]

I actually really like this !!
It's a bit different and really cool IMO (especially the interior & rear end styling).
Given new price of a decently optioned C2S, pricing seems ok also ??
Or perhaps I'm just having a mid-life crisis [&:]
But the UK isn't getting the Jazzy seats just plain ones!

Me too.
I bet they'd do the seats if you really wanted them?
Please order and cherish one, I may well be interested around 2017!

No chance of that I'm afraid as we just bought a new Cayenne (what was that about mid life crisis [
Ok, so the styling is based on the original 911, so I accept that great looking icons like the 964 turbo were overlooked but maybe it'd look more exciting if they'd incorporated some iconic styling cues from across the ages. Just how would a whale tail look on a modern car. I cant imagine it [&:] but Porsche could've pulled off something retro like that. It doesn't look retro at all from outside by just adding chrome.
The interior looks great though!
I also don't get why they have a door mirror design that is exclusive to certain models, as if they made the standard one deliberately crude so as to provide a differentiator on the top end models. Wasn't like that with the 997. It's hardly a talking point that one's car has different door mirrors to someone elses[&:]
Is Porsche losing it's way, with its mass market drive?[&o]

These seats "help ma boab" as a Scotsman would say , these would bring on an epiletic fit, and clash with the Queens dog tooth suit for the Balmoral games [8|]
Don't worry those seats have been deleted in the UK version.
