I read that WUF had most of the Lindsey catalogue thrown at it. I reckon there's a lot better options these days.

Three of us had the Link system. Rick, Graham and myself. Bought through Andrew Sweetnham IIRC . I know Rick gave up and ditched his for the Wolf. I don't know about Graham.

The main issue with the Link is the way it would extrapolate between cells. The cells were quite course but dramatically influenced by the cells around them. You might set up the fuelling based on one cell but if you were actually near the edge of that cell the adjacent cells might have a greater influence. The net result was often a very jagged and erratic fuel curve. With a lot of hard work, and mentally extrapolating the extrapolation, I did manage to get a workable result.

Rick did buy quite a few bits from Lindsey and I often got phone calls along the lines of "I'm ordering a -----" do you want one as well. Happy days. The other plus was if he wanted something bigger again I got his cast offs.

There might be better than Lindsey but they did a lot of stuff for race cars in the States and had a lot of experience as a result. While technology may change these are still old engines and physics is the same as it was 25 years ago.

lindsey is good but you need to pick and choose... I'm not a fan of their MAF kits... turbo's are good, personally I think the 61 is well suited for a highly modified 951, more power than you'd ever need, well built too....

Thanks for clearing that up John... I'm not totally losing my mind then...:)

MAF? You can't beat MAP. Blow a hose and you can still get back to the pits ;-).

I'm having real issues with this thread as I can't believe anyone in their right mind would actually get in the same car as BSB. When Rick sold him WUF I accused him of flaunting a duty of care. I seem to remember there was a sweep stake as to how long it would be before he killed himself. Having it stripped and rebuilt might well have saved his life. ;-)

It was mainly engine management rather than mechanical Lindsey parts I was thinking of. I'd still buy some parts from them, though they do seem to have a bigger is better mentality.

Ha ha, I was a lot happier with him driving the 996tt than WUF. The black car felt stuck to the road, the red one felt like it was heading for a big crash... I went to see WUF in the bodyshop, he must have spent ÂŁ1000's on it.

Haha.. they can't help it Paul, it's what makes them American.... that and being plain stupid...:)

[:D] Nothing sinister, though someone that grew up in Norfolk in the 1940's has a certain way of looking at life.
