Something very special happened earlier this week... An opportunity arose a few days ago to buy this matching numbers Porsche 912 believed to be a 1968 SWB car. After a road trip to Ilkley, West Yorkshire last Thursday the deal was done.
The car is a Californian import brought over about 7/8 years ago. A 1968 model built at the Karmann factory in late 1967 with the 616/39 USA spec engine that has recently been fully rebuilt, it now sports the classic Fuchs wheels. The car is currently Silver, previously Red but original colour is Sand Beige (6807).
Bodyshell needs some work and few parts missing but it’s gonna be an epic project! Many thanks to Craig for letting the car go and as always David Vardy at VrD Motorsport for sorting collection to the Retro Barne workshop!
I'm now looking to trace the history of the cars origins but have been told by Porsche GB and Porsche Club GB that they have stopped doing both the Certificate of Authenticity and the Letter of Origin so any ideas how to go about it?
