No issue with running a conditioner on an AGM in non AGM mode - AGM batteries can take a higher charge rate at a lower temp if needed - so AGM mode = "bit more aggressive/optimised charging if it needs it" vs standard mode being "yeah - all good for 12v batteries"I have it set on the AGM & Car setting as seen in the photo. All the lights are now on, up to and including No. 7. Hopefully I didn't damage the battery at all charging it on the non-AGM setting.![]()

Thanks - was a bit worried but only been charging in AGM mode since then - and all seems fine. Out of interest - do you plug in the charger every time you park - or do you only do it when you think it won't be used for more than a day/. 2 days? 3 days...?No issue with running a conditioner on an AGM in non AGM mode - AGM batteries can take a higher charge rate at a lower temp if needed - so AGM mode = "bit more aggressive/optimised charging if it needs it" vs standard mode being "yeah - all good for 12v batteries"

My car is 1) different 2) battery is 6 years old, it can (and has) stand for several weeks without issue - but, it's garaged, and in my case there's no "dance" required to keep the ciggy lighter socket alive - i have 20 mins from key out to plug in something that provides power - so, when I "put the car away" if I know I am not going out in it in the next couple of days then I habitually just plug it in.
Also - remember - these are battery conditioners, not trickle charges, they are designed to keep the battery healthy, not just pump power into it - so they will exercise the battery - allowing minimal discharge and only doing whats necessary - so I consider it a positive "proactive maintenance" to use the conditioner - hence the battery in the car - a porsche genuine one is still healthy after 6 years, and the one I took out when i swapped them (car was going under porsche warranty and needed a genuine battery) is also still showing "good" on my battery tester after being left on a another conditioner between it's occasional uses for a donor battery for other peoples cars when they have needed one in a hurry and to supply power to some 12v dc dependent equipment when I have needed it.

The battery in my 981S is the original battery and is 13 years old. I had my local OPC test the battery recently as I was worried that it would let me down. I was advised that the battery was still in good health and did not need replacing. My car is kept in a garage on a Porsche battery conditioner which I assume must help.
