Boxster Wheel Centre Caps

I'd like to replace my silver centre wheel caps. Ebay you can get the fake ones for about £30, original ones will cost about £155 with the PC discount. Do you think I'm better buying the originals - I'm thinking that the latter will look better and probably last longer! Any views?
 
5X£30 = £150. Even if you have to replace them every year you still get 5 years usage. How many years have your original ones lasted?
 
I use the cheap ones - when one fades I swap it out for another - sometimes they last a summer and over the winter - sometimes I get 3 years out of one

Not sure how long they have been on there - I have had the car a year and don't know how long previous owner had them - they could even be original ones. Probably best to spend £150 and at least I know they will fit properly!

What's the age of the car? That will give you a clue as per how long they MIGHT have been on there. My experience of the cheaper versions is, as malarcy says, they last (in my case) around 2-3 years and a perfect fit. Treat yourself to an extra tank full of petrol with your saving😊👍😉.
 
I changed by ratty originals (2009 987.2) on my car which lives outside, never garaged with ebay 'cheap' ones, silver but the crest is in the Porsche colours, all good so far. Fit is very good, the cap snaps into place very tightly.
